National Grid is hiring an Associate Engineer, Transmission Line Engineering, for our division in Northborough, Mass. This is a hybrid role with approximately 1 day per week in the field, and approximately 1 day per week in the office. This is not a remote role (relocation not provided).

Job Purpose
As an Associate Engineer, you will be a part of a team that is critical in getting transmission line projects delivered. You will help designs projects that improve the reliability of the high-voltage electric system for our customers while investigating new and innovative solutions. Electric Transmission Engineering ensures safe and reliable transmission designs for customers and communities now and in the future! Key Accountabilities
Perform transmission line engineering and design work on various projects including new transmission lines, refurbishments, and reconductoring projects.
Conduct field inspections, determine cost effective solutions, and develop comprehensive engineering reports based on applicable design codes, engineering procedures, and sound safety practices.
Conduct engineering studies, analysis, and investigations to recommend corrective action or to prevent future problems.
Specify, order, and coordinate material delivery. Review vendor calculations and fabrication drawings.
Prepare project specifications and develop procedures and technical documents.
Proactively build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to obtain and share information that will benefit National Grid and our customers.
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master's in Civil, Electrical, and/or Mechanical engineering degree from an accredited institution is preferred
Familiarity with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD
This role includes visits to work sites throughout our service territory and you are required to have your own transportation
Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
BS in an engineering discipline (EE preferred)
EIT and Professional Engineers license desirable
More Information
Salary: $94,000 - $110,000 a year
