As an associate electrical engineer, you'll support HID's success by:

  • Applying technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance and use of complex products, devices, tests, or procedures under constantly changing conditions where moderate ingenuity and good judgement are required to support our printer hardware, to enhance functionality, and/or to comply with system requirements.

  • Performing advanced troubleshooting, calibration, or modification of hardware, fixtures, and software.

  • Utilizing electronic, microelectronic, optical, electro-optical, mechanical, or electromechanical equipment.

  • Designing, building, and testing new electronic printed circuit assemblies, fixtures, and cables.

  • Identifying and correcting minor process, material, design, equipment, part specification problems, and obsolete part issues.

  • Participating in the design and testing for compliance standards including, but not limited to, emissions, susceptibility, and safety.

  • Working with all departments to continuously improve product, process, workflow, internal standards, and customer experience.

  • Recommending and assisting in the implementation of new processes and tools.

  • Suggesting ideas for new technological developments, components, concepts, and materials processes to maintain competitive advantage.

  • Proactively providing status, raising issues, and communicating necessary information to appropriate team members on a regular basis.

  • Self-managing with minimal guidance, to achieve team goals.

What we will love about your background:

  • Exposure to modern schematic capture CAD tools as well as modern hardware test equipment like digital sampling oscilloscopes, digital logic analyzers, etc. (utilization of network protocol analyzers would be a definite plus).

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and respond to shifting priorities.

  • Interest in a hands-on approach to problem solving.

  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to manipulate small parts and operate a keyboard.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.

  • Familiar with the Microsoft Windows operating system.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.

Your Experience and Education include:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. (Electrical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline)
  • 0-1 years of hardware development experience.

VIEW JOBS 11/30/2022 12:00:00 AM 2023-02-28T00:00 <p>Electrical CAD Designer</p><p>Eden Prairie, MN 55344Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.</p><p> The client has an Electrical Designer position available in Eden Prairie, MN.</p><ul><li>The Electrical Designer will prepare clear, complete, and accurate documentation with accuracy, attention to detail and within budget restraints.</li><li>This position will include creating routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, diagrams, & schematics from rough or detailed sketches, or notes for engineering according to defined CAD standards.</li></ul><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Follow general and specific industry guidelines and best practices.</li><li>Read, learn, and apply the general and client specific CAD Standards to all drawings.</li><li>Utilize knowledge of CAD software to complete drawings.</li><li>Draft finished designs from engineer’s sketches or from other engineering documentation.</li><li>Visually compare design of component, or other equipment with datasheet of component, matching electrical terminations, etc. for accurate drafting of component.</li><li>After preliminary drafting is completed, print out the drawing sets for quality assurance review following company procedures.</li><li>Review questions or concerns with engineer or project manager and redline drawing set accordingly.</li><li>Perform other work-related duties as assigned.</li><li>Work as a member of a design team, cooperating with the team leader and with WME management in an effective manner to perform engineering work of a high quality, with no errors.</li><li>Be aware of budget and schedule constraints on all work executed by and for WME.
