The Role:

The Associate EHS Manager will lead a team of Incident Supervisors to proactively manage programs and processes to ensure healthy incident and workers comp claims reporting, assist in reducing the severity of workers comp claims, and comply with OSHA recordkeeping. This position is cross-functional with HR, Legal, Workers Compensation, EHS, operations, and Risk Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction, control and guidance to Incident Supervisors and Incident Representatives

  • Maintain records of performance for Incident Supervisors

  • Perform employee training, performance evaluations, and hiring

  • Complete reporting of goals, objectives, and challenges within Incident Management

  • Oversee work-related injuries and illnesses within North America and escalate injury and illness trends to appropriate stakeholders

  • Ensure workers compensation claims are reported timely

  • Manage OSHA recordkeeping 300A/300/301 logs and electronically submit required OSHA logs

  • Respond to RFP & Pre-Qualification requests from business partners, clients and regularly agencies

  • Evaluate the injury and assesses job duties to ensure reasonable accommodation is being made

  • Develop relationships with occupational health clinics and supervisors to ensure a successful return to work program

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of recent Workers Compensation Claims experience in a Med-Only role

  • Advanced knowledge of industry terminology and how to successfully adjudicate medical claims from start to finish

  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping, policies and case studies

  • WCCA or insurance certifications highly preferred

  • Strong supervisory skills and experience successfully leading a team

  • Understanding of medical and legal terminology

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong mathematical and organizational skills, and quick and accurate data entry skills

  • Capable of lifting 15 lbs

  • Evidence of exceptional ability

VIEW JOBS 12/14/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-14T00:00 The Role: The EHS Manager drives the development and execution of our overall EHS Management System within the Paint and Plastics department at the Fremont Factory. This role is responsible for managing direct reports and overseeing technical work in a wide range of EHS disciplines. The ideal candidate has successful management system implementation experience and a proven history of leading and developing health and safety leaders. The EHS Manager works strategically with operations management, manufacturing leadership, production teams, and health and safety team members to ensure that we maintain a safe work environment for our employees. Responsibilities: * Develop, implement, and execute short and long-term plans to ensure compliance with VPP, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, Tesla defined best practices, and all local, state and federal health and safety regulations * Interface with regulatory agencies on complex permitting, reporting and compliance-related issues * Oversee incident reporting and analysis processes and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of injuries * Develop and execute programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, Waste Management, Recycling, Fall Protection, Ergonomics, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, etc. * Provide education and training on health and safety goals to employees and leadership * Analyze EHS data and reports trends; recommend and oversee plans for corrective actions * Complete monthly reports and maintain OSHA injury logs * Conduct Risk Assessments and establish JSA's / JHA's / SWP's * Operate as a change agent driving continuous improvement across the organization Requirements: * 10+ years of experience in a similar manufacturing/industrial environment * Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or Safety-related discipline. * Master's degree and certifications (CSP, CHMM, CPE, CIH) are preferred * Strong understanding of and experience with lean manufacturing * Advanced knowledge of CAL-OSHA policies * Advanced knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory agencies and requirements * Practical, hands-on experience with the following: equipment safety and machine guarding, waste management, compliance initiatives, process implementation, risk assessment, root cause analysis * Ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of management * Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines * Evidence of exceptional ability Tesla Motors Fremont CA
