Summary:
The Associate Editor will help manage media across groups and third-party partners, as well as create edits for the hundreds of live sports and entertainment events we produce each year. This will involve Adobe Premiere editing and managing media. This person will help support Cosm Media's efforts to create original programming, as well as help manage archival footage, marketing support and creation of immersive video assets, and to work with our third-party partners to deliver consumer-facing edits.
LOCATION
The successful candidate will join the Cosm Immersive team. Cosm has teams in various locations in the USA and around the world. The ideal candidate will be willing to work out of the LA office with may occasionally travel working on some of the most well-known and immersive sporting events in the industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Edit sports and entertainment programs: ranging from highlights, segments/shoulder programming, full shows, etc.
Coordinate and distribute to required stakeholders in the team or to clients to finish a project (eg editing, VFX, coloring, audio mixing, etc.) and assist in keeping track of assets in more complex post-production workflows
Learn new skills in editing and coloring especially as it related to immersive media (eg converting across 180, 360, 3D, stitching, etc.) and help document best practices
Convert footage between immersive formats (eg converting across 180, 360, 3D, stitching, etc.)
Work with media manager or manage media from productions
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five years' editing ideally in live, sports or entrainment environment
Ability to work in fast paced sport and entertainment environment with deadlines
Solid knowledge in Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve
Knowledge of the following is a plus: immersive in general, Mistika VR, After Effects, experience with distributed rendering
Good technical knowledge in finishing projects (coloring, encoding, etc.)
Training and qualifications relevant to media management and editing
A bonus: Knowledge of Resolve, coloring, and immersive tools and formats
Eagerness to learn new tools and formats
Good knowledge of file-based formats, post-production workflows and technologies.
A positive, enthusiastic manner with the ability to react tactfully and sympathetically to requests from post-production staff and clients
Experience keeping track of assets or documentation for projects
Effective communication and good problem-solving skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and to remain calm under pressure.
Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated and organized
The annualized base salary range for this position in California is $66,000 to $90,000. The base salary offered will factor in internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience, among other factors.
