We are looking for an energetic and experienced candidate with a desire to work in a fast-paced, fast growing, and dynamic company to support enrichment and advancement of Coherus pipeline products. The successful candidate will have an extensive experience in discovery and early development stages of biologics in the areas of immunology or immuno-oncology. The incumbent should have extensive hands on and strategic experience with in vitro assays with immune cells, and flow cytometry based phenotyping to be able to manage planning and execution of internal and outsourced activities. Some in vivo disease model experience, and characterization of therapeutic antibody aspects by SPR will be a plus. Outstanding written and oral communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage a laboratory, take initiatives, and collaborate across cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will also set strategic objectives for his/her programs based on the overall goals of translational sciences.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design, plan, and support advancement of pipeline of biosimilars and novel molecules by addressing mechanism of action, including testing in primary immune cell assays and in vivo models
Stay abreast with the latest literature, regulatory trends, and be a thought leader in recommending novel concepts and testing paradigms to support successful IND filing
Development and/or use new technology and assays to support biosimilars and novel drug candidates
Interpret experimental results and present strategy and progress updates at department and company meetings
May oversee and manage internal lab activities and outsourced aspects of projects
Ph.D. with 7-10+ years of experience in Immunology or immuno-oncology (biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry experience preferred)
Established scientific accomplishment as evidenced by publications, inventorship, or presentations at scientific conferences
Demonstrated ability to lead successful collaborations.
Experienced in writing and contributing to pre-IND, IND, and/or BLA filings
A strong desire to contribute to our mission of translating drug development expertise into accessible, cost-effective, high quality drugs for patients
Be an effective team player and strong individual contributor, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks and deliver high quality results under tight timelines
