In this role you will:

  • Reporting to VP of Chemistry, the person will lead medicinal chemistry efforts to execute company strategies and goals, enable progression of multiple projects, including summarizing and synthesizing all relevant data to formulate medicinal chemistry strategies to address critical issues
  • Management of CRO chemistry teams through strong synthetic and medicinal chemistry skills so that CRO team(s) perform at high level and high productivity
  • Working with legal, proactively formulate and execute strategies to protect and expand intellectual property
  • Collaborate and communicate across dynamic multi-disciplinary teams to successfully progress organizational goals
  • Participate in building up internal chemistry capability in the long run



  • Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry with 7+ years pharmaceutical medicinal chemistry industrial experience
  • Ability to champion chemistry efforts into new directions to achieve project goals and milestones
  • High level of creativity and productivity with strong synthetic problem-solving skills
  • Expert understanding of all medicinal chemistry concepts such as drug-like properties, protein-ligand interactions, conformational and structural analysis and translate them into solutions to drug discovery issues
  • Working knowledge of PK-ADME, physicochemical, biochemical and pharmacological principles and apply to drug discovery
  • Proven leadership capability in cross-functional team setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present the rationale, data, issues and accomplishments of the team

The successful candidate will lead a group of medicinal chemists and engage in rational structure-based drug discovery enabled by our computational and structural chemistry group. In addition, the work will include aspects of managing CRO collaborators in the preparation of target molecules and leadership of drug discovery projects.
