The Associate Director/ Director, Human Resources will also play a crucial role in designing and implementing effective onboarding and benefits programs to enhance employee experience and retention at Seaport Therapeutics. The ideal candidate will enjoy a diverse Human Resource experience in a small, private biotech that anticipates significant growth. As the first HR employee, the candidate will have the opportunity to establish the function at Seaport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage the onboarding process for new hires to ensure a smooth transition.

  • Conduct orientation sessions and introduce new employees to the company culture and policies.

  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure new hires have necessary resources and training.

  • Address employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Support conflict resolution and foster a positive work environment.

  • Assist in organizing employee engagement activities and events.

  • Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs.

  • Provide guidance to employees on benefit options and enrollment processes.

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of benefits-related transactions.

  • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

  • Assist with payroll processing and systems.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for HR processes and systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 5-8 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role.

  • Strong understanding of HR practices and labor laws.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Benefits and on boarding
