ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

USF Health Communications and Marketing office is seeking a website strategist, preferably with health experience, to join the department. This office is responsible for executive communications, storytelling and news, brand identity, digital communications, websites, and integrated marketing campaigns to advance the strategic mission of USF Health.

The USF Health Communications and Marketing office reports to the Executive Vice President for USF Health and supports the colleges of medicine, nursing, public health, pharmacy, school of physical therapy and rehabilitation sciences, and the physicians practice plan on a day-to-day basis. The office also works in alignment with University Communications and Marketing to advance USF's mission.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Content management system (CMS) /website management, CMS/website strategist, UX, SEO, marketing/PR, liaison with depts, liaison with IT, lead web efforts with the USF Health digital team.

This role calls for a proactive digital/web professional with significant experience in supporting, maintaining and managing websites to meet user needs and institutional priorities. This professional must be able to work individually and guide a digital team in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. This position will serve as part of the USF Health and Communications Marketing Team and reports to the Director of USF Health Communications and Marketing.

The website strategist will serve as part of the digital team within USF Health Communications and Marketing and will be the lead in planning, developing, enhancing, and managing ongoing web development projects for USF Health. He/She will be responsible for developing and implementing CMS and website strategies to advance the top strategic priorities of USF Health and to strengthen the USF Health brand; ensure that overall standards for appearance and usability are maintained for all websites; and determine with USF IT USF Health page design and templates based on how end user will work with them.

The Website Strategist Associate Director must have experience in supporting websites, web user experience (UX), content strategy, SEO, analytics, experience with different front-end technologies and has an eye for UI. He/She will coordinate complex projects applying technical, creative and communication skills to maximize the functionality of USF Health's external websites. This role will enhance the overall digital strategy, focusing primarily on two websites: the USF Health main site (health.usf.edu) and the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine academic and research website (health.usf.edu/medicine). Will set strategy for maintaining current webpages, determine and implement best practices for informed design decisions that enhance functionality (including design, keywords and search engine positioning) and user experience, and track and report progress on analytics, SEO and UX. This effort includes collaborating with and guiding a digital team on day-to-day support, maintenance and curation of content for MCOM websites.

Will act as liaison with USF IT team to collaborate and manage the functionality of the website.

Will also liaise, when necessary, with pertinent staff at Tampa General for USF Health's clinical website, clinical integration, and impact on USF Health clinical care pages.

Requires an understanding of marketing and communications, brand standards, brand messaging and best practices, so as to plan, create, publish and measure relevant content for meeting web objectives for target audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee maintaining and managing USF Health, USF Health Morsani College of Medicine websites. Set digital strategy for these websites, determining best practices for creating and maintaining webpages that provide optimum UX, SEO, and keywords and search engine positioning.

Determine tools for monitoring website traffic, SEO, UX and analytics for MCOM pages; prepare subsequent reports for team and leadership. Provide analytical tracking and adaptation by monitoring web traffic, keyword rankings, and competitor strategies to adapt and refine SEO and content strategies; use data-driven insights to refine strategies and achieve key organizational objectives. Dovetail these approaches with USF Health marketing strategy and broader health campaigns, bringing suggested content ideas to the team.

Liaise with USF-IT for determining back-end development for informed design decisions. Conduct regular website audits to ensure ongoing compliance with best practices and to identify areas for improvement. Integrate with USF Health Communications and Marketing, collaborating with multiple team members (digital team, multi-media journalists, graphic designers, marketing leaders) to create finished content and webpages for target audiences.

Provide direction and mentor a high-performing digital marketing team, providing guidance, setting objectives, and fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity. Support the digital team on day-to-day maintenance and curation of content for MCOM websites.

Liaise and collaborate with departments/units at USF Health and the Morsani College of Medicine on webpage curation, development, analytics and strategies. Liaise with USF-IT for site connectivity, functionality.

Assist USF Health Communications and Marketing team with other online web-based efforts and other duties assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in technology, web development related fields.

Minimum 5 years of experience managing CMS/websites.

FLSB1310 equivalency:

Four years of directly related experience can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, user experience methodologies, and content management systems, with Sitecore CMS experience preferred. Must understand health, medical and education topics.

Must have experience and/or certifications in CMS, UX, coding (HTML, SQL and JavaScript) analytics and reporting proficiency, and SEO. Must understand computer architecture and maintenance knowledge, hardware knowledge and software skills. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions. Experience in higher education preferred.
