The Associate Director, Rehabilitation Services, will serve as a leading contributor to special projects and change acceleration activities that are associated with promotion of the company's philosophy. The Associate Director, Rehabilitation Services, will oversee the Rehabilitation Services staff, promoting positive resolutions, supporting adherence to vocational guidelines, and ensuring appropriate use of resources. The Associate Director, Rehabilitation Services, will also serve as a representative for the claims department in matters pertaining to the development of vocational policies and procedures, both internally and externally.
The essential functions and responsibilities of this job position include, but are not limited to the following:
Work collaboratively with Rehabilitation Services team, Case Managers and other resources to promote positive resolutions by conducting file reviews; participating in the development and implementation of processes and procedures to facilitate business needs; and participating in ongoing and new hire training.
Manage Certified Rehabilitation Counselor's (CRC's) to ensure the appropriate use of resources and available tools and that timely follow-through actions are being taken on files by documenting reviews and providing feedback to staff. Oversight of external rehabilitation vendor relationships.
Develop consistent behaviors across the disability claims organization for working with respective teams in relation to scheduling individual meetings, administering contract provisions consistently and working with management reports.
Knowledge of LTD claims and business results
High level of technical expertise and business knowledge of claims risk management
Strong project management and organizational skills
Working knowledge of vocational practices and DRMS contracts
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to achieve results through staff
Minimum 4 year degree, preferred advance degree
3-5 years management experience, preferably in disability claims
