Position Summary:

The Associate Director, Thought Leader Liaison is a critical role in driving commercialization of Crinetics' exciting and deep pipeline across multiple disease states of significant unmet-medical need. As Thought Leader Liaison, your initial focus will be on supporting Crinetics' first commercial launch of Paltusotine in Acromegaly followed by a potential second indication in Carcinoid syndrome.

The Thought Leader Liaison is a field-based marketing role that will be a vital commercial contact with national and regional Key Opinion leaders. The Thought Leader Liaison team will also be responsible for planning and executing regional marketing initiatives to support the overall brand strategy. The successful candidate will be skilled in operating in a highly matrixed and collaborative environment and will have a track record of driving cross-functional leadership across key initiatives. You will play a key role in driving key market planning activities pre-launch and drive commercial execution post-FDA approval. Specifically, in support of commercial strategy execution, you will be responsible for identifying and mapping KOLs, developing KOL-specific engagement plans, supporting promotional speaker bureau development, diving peer-peer educational activities, understanding regional business trends and executing local market programs.

This role covers the Western half of the US.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Key Opinion Leader Engagement:

  • Serve as the key commercial point of contact for National and Regional KOLs

  • Identify and map all academic and community-based KOLs and help map referral patterns between KOLs in center of excellence and the community

  • Understand regional and KOL-specific practice patterns to better understand key areas of unmet need in Acromegaly treatment

  • Support regional advisory boards by leading recruitment of advisors, planning and coordination with vendors to helping generate key actionable insights

  • Develop and manage KOL-specific engagement plans and drive advocacy for Paltusotine post-FDA approval

  • Engage with KOLs in generating feedback on market development activities including disease state education and brand promotional strategies and tools

  • Support engagement of KOLs with Crinetics leadership at various forums

  • Field Marketing Activities:

  • Support recruitment and development of the speaker bureau in collaboration with the commercial operations team

  • Collaborate with marketing team to develop peer-peer content including educational videos, promotional supplements and other assets needed by the regions

  • Drive Crinetics' presence and engagement at National, regional and local congresses and facilitate our active engagement at these events

  • Support commercial team in developing best-in-class disease state and product training curriculum

  • Provide commercial team with in-market insights on core promotional activities post-approval

  • Develop strong collaboration with field sales leaders, sales representatives, National Account Directors and Regional Reimbursement Directors to ensure seamless field execution of promotional activities

  • Drive compliant coordination with field medical affairs team to effectively support customers

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • At least a Bachelor's degree with 12 years of combined sales, marketing, account management or related experience in biopharmaceutical industry.

  • Rare disease or Endocrinology experience is preferred

  • Experience engaging with KOLs via prior TLL role, speaker bureau leadership or advisory board management required

  • Track record with product launch planning (field or internal) as well as experience in creatively accelerating brand uptake and overcoming barriers to commercial success

  • Track record of effective collaboration with multiple cross-functional partners including sales, marketing, field reimbursement specialists, MSLs etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with external stakeholders including KOLs, practice managers etc. and internal commercial teams

  • Strong communication and presentation skills and proven project management abilities to manage multiple competing priorities

  • Ability to lead and influence without direct authority

  • High level of professional integrity and strong commitment to compliance

  • Ability to travel approx. 70%

  • Innovative Thinking: Demonstrated ability to leverage innovation and creative thinking to drive results

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-rated, marketing and/or life sciences field required

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. Laboratory Activities (if applicable): Biology and chemical laboratory environment experience needed. Environmental health and safety requirements also apply.

Travel:

You may be required to travel for up to 70% of your time.

The Anticipated Base Salary Range: $161,000-$214,000

In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. We also provide top-notch health insurance plans for employees (and their families) to include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance, 20 days of PTO, 10 paid holidays, and a winter company shutdown.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
