The Associate Director will be responsible for managing and overseeing client events and programs from start to finish, ensuring that the account team is well prepared to meet all client marketing, timeline, and budgets. This role has primary responsibility for the day-to-day management of the client and account team. Further, this role is involved in the supervision and development of the account team.

What will you do?

Client Management

  • Manage client relationship in order to provide superior work, value-added services, and expand account responsibilities

  • Establish personal credibility and develop sound business relationship with clients

  • Navigate the client organization for the purpose of growth, sell-in, and effective delivery of our marketing solutions

  • Work closely with VP and Account Leadership to expand agency's participation in client business and keep all stakeholders apprised of activities and concerns

Account Management

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely development and execution of all marketing programs from concept to execution and post-program evaluation

  • Ensure team's client service levels are maintained and all client expectations are met or exceeded; engage and lead team through collaborative process

  • Provides overall project direction to Creative, Strategy, and other internal teams

  • Develops all major presentations and reviews all other presentations prepared by Account team

  • Sets and manages expectations with the client and agency partners, and champions the agency

  • Ensures high-quality work output, excellent project management, flawless delivery, and elimination of errors within the team

  • Able to work alongside the Creative Team to develop client deliverables, agency presentations and new business proposals

Strategic Participation

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of client's business and industry

  • Participates in strategic process to ensure sound and effective program development

  • Review program results with Senior Strategy Director and extrapolate key learnings

  • Think strategically and work closely with our Insights & Strategy Team

Financial Management

  • Maintain business accountability for account profitability and timely payment

  • Maintain absolute integrity and honesty in all financial interactions

Agency/Staff Development

  • Play an active role in the development and maintenance of agency culture and the development of team

  • Responsible for training and development of team members; help direct reports develop positive, productive relationships with client and within agency

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of agency/client brand experience or relevant work

  • 2-3 years relevant experience in experiential marketing program development & execution, managing multiple programs and accounts

  • 2-3 years proven management experience of a team of 5+ employees

  • Significant experience negotiating partnerships and developing contracts

  • Prior experience reconciling and budget development of $1MM+ programs

  • Strong understanding of marketing communications and creative principles, including all elements of the marketing mix; event advertising, promotion, and relationship marketing

  • Experience with developing strategy and presentations to sell in new programs and initiatives

  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail, strong organization skills and Microsoft Office skills

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills that encourage team cooperation, promote enthusiasm and motivate strategic thinking

  • Proactive approach to all aspects of the role, including employee development and motivation

  • Minimum B.S/B.A in Marketing Communications or related discipline preferred
