The Role:

This new leadership role is an exciting opportunity to be a critical part of the talent engine fueling a high-growth organization that is radically changing the biotech industry. As Moderna continues to grow, we need a seasoned and ambitious Associate Director who can bring their creativity and energy to oversee key talent programs and recruiting operations. This role will manage a small team and will play an integral part of the TA Leadership Team. In addition, this person will act as coverage for the Head of Talent Acquisition and will work closely with Moderna executives on a regular basis.

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Create and lead innovative programs that support the talent engine at Moderna (candidate assessment platforms, interviewing for culture/values-fit, building future talent pipelines), and other external initiatives such as employer branding and candidate experience.

  • Lead Talent Acquisition operations including a team of four. You will innovate and streamline recruiting processes, leveraging Workday and manage/mentor/develop a team.

  • Bring fresh external best practices, technologies and innovation to how Moderna Talent Acquisition can do its very best work.

  • Help lead and facilitate team meetings and propose new ways to bring a spirit of continuous learning into the Talent Acquisition team.

  • Assist in reporting on key recruiting metrics utilizing Workday or other digital systems.

  • Develop strong partnerships with Moderna HR Business Partners and Total Rewards teams.

  • Be BOLD and RELENTLESS in creating new ideas to identify, engage, attract, and assess talent into Moderna. You don't take 'no' for an answer and you have a proven track record solving even the largest recruiting or talent acquisition challenges.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:

  • A minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience as an in-house corporate recruiter/recruiting operations and people manager in a high-growth biotech environment.

  • Experience managing HR projects across multiple functions, using digital tracking tools and driving others for results.

  • Proven track record of project management experience in the HR space, resulting in outcomes that have 'moved the needle' or been seen as innovative in the space.

  • Demonstrated commitment to be a true 'talent advisor' to the business and a respected leader in talent acquisition.

  • A deep interest in the candidate/employee experience and a passion for articulating a differentiated employer brand to the marketplace.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills you are outgoing, communicative, and seek to build relationships on a daily basis.

  • You drive for results and set a high bar for yourself and others.

  • A natural ability to be highly organized in how you think, communicate and conduct your work.

  • Strong experience using an integrated HRIS/ATS system, strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

Responsibilities: * Develop and implement strategic recruitment programs that meet business needs such as: Fellowship, Post Doc, Internship programs, contingent workforce vendor management, behavioral based interviewing, etc. * Ability to manage a diverse requisition load of technical and seniority levels and create a positive and transparent candidate interview experience * Contribute to Talent Acquisition projects and initiatives including process improvements, ATS implementation, talent metrics, ERP campaigns, gamification, community involvement, social media and branding initiatives * Partner and educate hiring managers on the art of interviewing using behavioral and scenario-based interviewing techniques for optimal candidate selection * Seek out and participate in recruitment/Blueprint branding events both at the company and in the community * Manage and develop a diverse team of recruiting coordinators, recruiters both FTE and contractors * Collaborate with Director of TA and HRBPs on workforce plans, difficult talent issues and strategic talent pipelining * Ensure all recruitment and employment activities are in compliance with government regulations and company policies and procedures. Qualifications: * BS/BA degree required plus a minimum of 8 years full cycle progressive recruiting experience.
