Position Overview

You will be managing and leading Vitech's highly visible systems engineering team to better meet the needs of our company, customers, and partners in a global environment. As the Associate Director of Systems Administration, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our senior internal operations support teams and help maintain our commitment to high systems standards in implementing AWS cloud systems solutions, data center-based systems hardware, and software. This is an important opportunity in which the selected candidate would be directly responsible for evolving not only the systems technology but also the operations of our global systems administration team.

Responsibilities

  • Management

o Coordination and overall management of systems team coverage, and adherence to the highest levels of support and incident response.

o Systems expense allocation, reporting, and forecasting.

o Systems admin staff development and oversight coordination between US and INDIA systems management teams.

o Work collaboratively with other technology teams within the organization.

o Create, review, and analyze monthly reports on staff workload, project status, and infrastructure key metrics.

o Mentor, enhance, and train team members.

o Manage and participate in on-call rotation.

o Promote cost awareness and cost containment throughout the team.

  • Leadership

o Lead our systems administration team including development & maintenance of systems roadmap, systems analysis planning, project/task oversite, systems operations, change management, cost analysis, and value engineering.

o Lead communication and response for the Systems Engineering team in senior-level group committees, client meetings, RCA (root cause analysis), and policy & process document development.

o Liaison with SecOps in addressing gaps in adherence to systems security infrastructure, policies, and standards.

o Mentor, enhance, and train team members.

o Promote cost awareness and cost containment throughout the team.

  • Technical

o Architect, support, and deploy key critical technologies such as LAN, WAN, WLAN, AWS Systems Services, Systems Security, and Application Delivery products within the corporate hybrid AWS Cloud infrastructure.

o Comprehend and design adherence to the highest levels of High Availability within all corporate and client production environments.

o Technical management of the entire systems infrastructure all associated telecom, hardware and software.

Qualifications

  • Management

o Experience leading global systems administration/engineering teams of 10+ while effectively managing team project/tasks scope and customer expectations.

o 5+ Years of staff management experience.

o 5+ Years of technical systems project management experience.

o 5+ Years managing AWS Cloud buildouts in a hybrid services environment.

o 8+ Years managing on-premises corporate back-office data centers and office infrastructure buildouts.

o Excellent time management, project planning, and interpersonal skills.

  • Leadership

o Strong ability to interface and communicate with key systems stakeholders and external customers. Must be able to gain their confidence, understand their technical/operational needs, and translate them into viable technical solutions projects.

o Superior verbal and written skills, encompassing exceptional communication skills.

o Strong organizational and leadership skills.

o Constantly look for and drive change to improve systems-related operational processes.

  • Technical

o BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience. MS degree in a related field or equivalent experience is a plus.

o Extensive experience 10+ years of related hands-on experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

o 8+ years of AWS Systems and technology services experience.

o 8+ years of Physical Data Center Center/Systems and technology services management.

o 8+ years of Microsoft AD and O365 services experience.

o Senior-level experience maintaining physical and virtual systems resources, including the configuration of systems supporting Microsoft AD environments, VMware, SAN switches, DELL SAN devices, endpoint protection (Carbon Black, Trend Micro), HP host equipment, and Veritas backup devices.

o Senior-level experience with AWS EC2 configuration, and AWS Workspaces cloud services.

o Senior-level experience with environments running Intune, SailPoint, AWS Cloud Trail, AWS CloudFormation, Splunk, Rapid 7, SCCM, ManageEngine, and AWS Cloud Watch.

o Understanding of SaaS and specifically web/app architectures and technologies.

o Senior-level experience troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose complex systems problems and implementing HA systems solutions.

o Senior-level systems skills including security vulnerabilities remediation, disaster recovery planning, systems logging, and capacity planning.

o Senior-level experience with monitoring systems such as SolarWinds, Patch management systems, and PagerDuty.

o AWS Advanced Cloud Certification.

o Microsoft Azure certification.
