Position Title: Associate Director, Platform Management Salesforce and Web

Responsibilities and Skills

The Associate Director of Platform Management will lead, manage, and execute the platform lifecycle for Salesforce platforms and Web platforms at Gilead. The Associate Director partners with various stakeholders across the company to develop long term (3-5 years) platform strategies aligned with overall company strategies.

The Associate Director will lead the delivery of platform capabilities and automation, and will define, publish and carry out architecture standards.

The Associate Director will work with various solution delivery leads, app factory leads, IT Business Engagement leads, Functional Delivery leads, business customers, and Digital agencies in support their project delivery lifecycle, website launches, and integrations.

Essential Duties and Job Functions

  • Create and manage roadmaps across systems and software platforms

  • Create and present options to senior management by collaborating with your teams to gather analytics and other key information to support decision making

  • Identify risks and mitigation actions across supported platforms

  • Lead and manage the Salesforce.com platform team supporting 8,000+ users

  • Expand the Sitecore CMS system hosted on Azure

  • Lead a global team that performs all basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows and other routine tasks

  • Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades

  • Run Salesforce.com data feeds and other integrations

  • Support App Factory team in evaluating, scoping and completing new development requests.

  • Work with our institutional management team to establish suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change management activities

  • Assist in training of new users, and grow the Salesforce.com and SiteCore skill set across the organization

  • Effectively act as the liaison between our users, vendors, the application development teams, and the digital marketing team

  • Work independently with members of the user community to define and document development requirements

Skills Required

  • Excellent project management skills and a positive attitude

  • You meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and lead laterally and upwards

  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills

  • You demonstrate rare verbal and written communication skills

  • You demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from various sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs

  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce.com and all upstream and downstream applications, systems and processes

Education & Experience

  • 4+ years of substantial experience and BS in Computer Science or related fields or 2+ years of relevant experience plus MS degree.

  • Minimum two years of experience as a Salesforce.com administrator

  • Minimum two years of experience as a SiteCore administrator

  • Saleforce.com Admin (ADM201 and ADM211) certified

  • Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Developer certifications preferred

  • Validated ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption.

  • Deep understanding of platform as a service (PaaS)

  • Strong data management abilities

  • A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion

  • A confirmed ability to understand and articulate complex requirements

  • Experience with nonprofit processes preferred

  • Previous experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment preferred
