The Associate Director, Operations Materials Manager is a key member of the Fairfield Operations leadership team, responsible for leading our Production Control and Materials Planning organizations and driving strategic and tactical activities to manage and improve on-time delivery, overdue and inventory for the entire site. The Materials Manager is part of a collaborative and energetic team dedicated to this fast growing, innovative company - Collins Aerospace. The Materials Manager motivates and engages their teams to continuously improve and exceed customer expectations.

This is an onsite role located in Fairfield, CA. This position is eligible for Relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages both the production control and material planning teams, and owns the establishment and execution of short to medium-term operational plans

  • Leads in the implementation of operational plans and prepares data for purchased parts, subassemblies, end items and other parts as required

  • Leads the financial commit process for the site including sales, inventory and overdue and drives adherence to those plans

  • Oversee the management of inter/intra-plant work in process (WIP), promise dating, and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and flow

  • Leads in the implementation of plans to minimize risks for short- and long-range shortages and escalates when needed to ensure successful customer delivery

  • Creates and executes plan for every part and maintains master data for purchased parts, sub-assemblies, end items and other parts as required

  • Ensures requirements are accurately flowed down through MRP based on the master production schedule and alignment with Supply Chain

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in production control and/or materials planning

  • Proficient in Plan For Every Part (PFEP)

  • Demonstrated experience in inventory management and delivery assurance

  • APICS certification

  • Demonstrated experience using SAP and analytical skills to drive results

  • Demonstrated experience leveraging strong operational background

  • Demonstrated experience leveraging internal customer focus, relationship development and communication skills for continuous improvement, business and team success

  • CORE or equivalent certification including process maturity development and root cause corrective action methods and tools

  • Demonstrated success in creating an engaged workforce and developing people

The salary range for this role is 158,000 USD - 316,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
