JOB SUMMARY:

Serves as Associate Director of Student Accessibility Services by: managing the team with the purpose of finding solutions and creating equal access to academic and student services; leading initiatives and educating the campus community on inclusive practices; and developing and implementing innovative practices. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

60% - Essential

  • Management and Leadership:

Manages Student Accessibility Services staff with the purpose of delivering comprehensive student services that ensure equal access to campus environments and participation. Establishes long-rang goals and outcomes for compliance and best practice. Collaborates with the Director and other institutional administrators to develop policies and procedures supporting the department's mission and vision. Manages budgets and monitors budgetary matters for the office. Attends meetings and serves on search committees, project teams, and advisory boards as requested.

20% - Essential

  • Innovation:

Develops and implements innovative and creative practices for equal access by staying abreast of Federal and State laws as well as trends in inclusion in higher education. Actively participates in national and state professional organizations and other opportunities for networking and professional development.

  • Representation and Education:

Represents the SAS office at campus events such as Orientations, Graduation services and information fairs. Leads the office in special initiatives, awareness and inclusion programming, and opportunities to educate the campus community on inclusive practices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • Master's Degree

Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, School Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Critical Disability Theory, Higher Education Leadership, or Special Education

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience working with college student accommodations and/or disabilities

Manages Work of Others

  • Manages work of others including hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff. Plans organizational structure and job content.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops Department Budgets

  • Responsible for developing one or more departmental budget(s). Estimated amount of budgetary responsibility in dollar amount must be added.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period

Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Overnight Travel

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Anticipated Hiring Range ($70,000.00 - $80,000.00)

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
