Associate Director of Marketing Analysis and Technology

This position will play a critical role in leading and advancing marketing analytics and marketing technology for Arizona State University. This role reports to the Senior Director of Marketing Technology within ASU Enterprise Partners. This role will provide thought leadership regarding ASU's innovation within digital marketing technology and analytics. This role will also be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and expansion of established platforms and strategies.
What you'll do:
Expand ASU's holistic digital marketing analytics strategy to track and measure performance across channels (web, search, social, display, communications, etc.)
Lead the continued implementation, expansion, and maintenance of ASU's enterprise instance of the Google Marketing Platform inclusive of GA4360 and GTM360
Oversee ASU's marketing analytics and technologies center of excellence and community of practice.
Strengthen ASU's marketing data governance in alignment with the Data Analytics & Insights data governance standards and in partnership with ASU Enterprise Partners' security and privacy teams
Maintain and grow ASU's tag management strategies.
Transform raw data into actionable insights and recommendations for ASU Enterprise leadership to optimize marketing efforts, improve user experience, and drive business decisions.
Effectively communicate complex data and findings at all levels of the organization using compelling visualizations and data story telling.
Proactively identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities within the ASU enterprise marketing data to improve marketing strategies.
Own the evaluation of new marketing technologies and optimize implementation of new and existing marketing technologies.
Research and stay up to date with the growing complexity of digital marketing.
Lead marketing technology integration projects that provide net-new capabilities while ensuring continuity of service for existing business processes.
Create dashboards and data visualizations for website performance reports in alignment with the Data Analytics & Insights team standards.
Partner with various teams across the ASU enterprise to understand stakeholder needs, provide insights, and tailor analytics solutions for stakeholders.
Work closely with ASU IT and web development teams to ensure seamless data collection in line with ASU technical requirements.
What you'll need:
Proven track record in designing and implementing successful measurement and analytics solutions.
Expertise in web analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.),
Expertise in client-side and server-side tag management system (Google Tag Manager) implementations.
Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker Studio, etc.)
Competence with data warehouse environments (BigQuery, Snowflake, SQL Server, etc.)
Deep understanding of digital marketing channels (SEM, SEO, paid and owned social, display, video, etc.)
Attribution modeling concepts and A/B testing methodologies.
Experience implementing web experimentation tools (Optimizely, VWO, etc.)
Experience leading and developing high-performing analytics resources.
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills. Passion for experimentation and innovation.
Proficiency with SQL languages for data analysis
Understanding of the native GA4 integration with BigQuery and ways to effectively query the data
Relevant Qualifications:
Preferred education and experience:
Expert proficiency in SQL database query language.
Experience with customer data and customer relationship management platforms.
