ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work under the direction of the Director and Senior AD of CST to ensure the ethical standard of the Life Coaching services are followed.

  • Will oversee and manage Life Coaching Case Load

  • Will develop, train and lead Peer Life Coaching program

  • Will oversee all student life coaches who are participating for CSER Credit

  • Oversee Case Manage for Life Coaching

  • Will Collect data and/or conduct surveys on Life Coaching program for evaluation of program effectiveness.

  • Will collaborate with other offices and departments on campus to promote Life coaching

  • Will collaborate with other CST staff to develop marketing campaigns for Life coaching services.

  • Assist in writing grants and/or finding grants to further fund the department's educational programming.

  • Attend annual training/conferences, with an emphasis on presenting. Conduct research related to student development practices in higher education.

  • Maintain necessary records/files for life coaching cases.

  • Work cooperatively and communicate with Student Affairs staff.

  • Assist administration with student-related issues/resolutions (President, Student Advocate Office, International Student Office, etc.)

  • Act as liaison to faculty, staff, and administration in regard to life coaching.

  • Provide assistance to the student population through student support services.

  • Attend departmental and official Liberty University meetings as required.

  • Remain abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks.

  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the shared supervision of student Christian Service Volunteers and the peer coaching students.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience

  • A master's degree with a concentration in Life coaching, higher education, student development, counseling, or a related field

  • Mid-level management experience and/or student development related experience in a management capacity is required.

  • Strong working knowledge of ICF Life Coaching standards, institutional assessment and educational trends as they relate to higher education required.

  • ICF Accredited Life Coach preferred, but not required.

  • Well-developed communications skills.

  • 1+ years of experience in Life Coaching or related field is preferred, but not required.

  • Exceptional abilities to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.

  • Exceptional skills in understanding, speaking, and writing English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.

  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business, government and community customers and associates.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and related software.

  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic and strong organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience.

  • Discretion and the ability to maintain confidential information.

  • Ability to train and coach others.

Problem Solving

  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.

Physical and Sensory Abilities

  • Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations.

  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.

  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.

  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate.

Driving Requirements

Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
