Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

Required Experience:

  • 3 years of direct fundraising experience or 5 years of experience in a related field.

Training and Education may be substituted for the required education orexperience.

  • A degree may be substituted with 6 years of direct fundraising experience and obtain a status of CFRE.

Job Concepts

The Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) Foundation is seeking a mission driven, experienced professional with exceptional fundraising abilities to serve as Associate Director of Leadership Giving and Stewardship. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropic Initiatives, the primary focus of this position is responsible for the strategic development and continued growth of leadership giving and stewardship programs including but not limited to appeals and online crowd fundraising, stewardship initiatives and impact messaging. This position is responsible for directing and securing new, recurring, and increased philanthropic support. The Associate Director will serve as a vibrant team player in the pursuit of increasing levels of philanthropy, community and alumni engagement, and visibility for the college. This position is primarily responsible for fundraising reaching individual and team performance goals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

60% Leadership Giving

  • Spearhead fundraising efforts for the BRCC Foundation, strategically securing gifts, and pledges under $10,000.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for leadership giving above $1,000, emphasizing personalized interactions through face-to-face and phone visits.

  • Research and incorporate industry best practices to craft, manage, and execute strategies that elevate annual gifts.

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects/donors, with a particular focus on renewing and increasing annual contributions.

  • Direct multi-channel appeals, encompassing employee giving, giving days, online platforms, and crowdfunding, utilizing methods such as direct mail, phone calls, texting, email, and social media.

  • Analyze and communicate donor readiness (affinity and capacity), contributing to the identification of candidates for major gifts.

  • Collaborate with development and advancement officers, offering strategic counsel for prospect engagement.

25% Stewardship and Program Impact

  • Lead donor engagement initiatives, orchestrating a comprehensive plan involving visits, phone calls, texting, email, mail, and social media communication.

  • Coordinate with the Development Services Manager to execute a robust stewardship plan, incorporating event donor recognition.

  • Facilitate campus visits, collaborating with BRCC faculty and staff to create meaningful and intentional experiences for prospects and donors.

  • Develop and oversee of stewardship strategies fostering a philanthropic culture and sustained support for BRCC.

  • Attend and occasionally host events to drive acquisition, cultivation, and stewardship efforts.

  • Direct impact initiatives, employing a strategy that integrates texting, email, mail, and social media communication.

  • Develop and oversee the collaborative effort with BRCC Marketing for a cohesive marketing effort, delivering impactful messaging to steward donors and increase contributions through various channels.

15% Performance Metrics and Data Management

  • Achieve annual fundraising goals and metrics, encompassing new, retained, and upgraded donors and dollars raised.

  • Research, define and propose data-driven fundraising goals, objectives, strategies, and schedules, conducting thorough analysis of results for each program element.

  • Set annual performance goals and priorities in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropic Initiatives.

  • Work closely with the Database Integrity Manager to manage timelines, prospect lists, distribution, and gift tracking.

  • Utilize fundraising software (Raiser's Edge) proficiently for regular report generation.

  • Prepare and enter comprehensive contact reports, ensuring accurate record-keeping.

  • Design and execute reports, analyzing data to monitor personal metrics and proactively achieve goals.

  • Actively participate in team meetings, retreats, and engage in continuous professional development activities.

  • Cultivate strong collegial partnerships with departmental representatives across the College.

  • Recruit and support key volunteers to enhance the College's advancement efforts.

  • Attend functions, meetings, and serve on internal/external committees as an Advancement Office representative.

  • Assist in developing materials for specific fundraising activities and promotional efforts, involving writing, speaking, telephoning, etc., as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.
