Blakehurst is recruiting for a hospitality focused Associate Director of Dining Services! This position is responsible for the overall effective dietary services for the Health Center and Independent Living areas. This important position will also oversee the selecting, training, and supervising of all servers and diet aides; coordination, appearance and maintenance of all dining areas and server stations and ensuring that courteous and efficient services are delivered.
Essential Job Duties:
Assists with organizing, directing, and supervising all dietary service functions in consultation with the dietitian.
Assist with maintaining established dietary standards and policies and assists dietitian in establishing and revising dietary policies and procedures.
Oversees the selection, training, evaluating, and disciplining of all servers, diet aides and dining room managers.
Visits Chestnut Green residents to evaluate food service such as: quality, quantity, availability, temperature, and appearance.
Conducts weekly documented Q/A rounds and communicates finding to Director, Executive Chef and Dining Room managers.
Oversees the Supervision of the Food Service Manager.
Occasional attends meetings related to the health center; morning meeting, Q/A meeting and Care Plan meeting.
Assists with the development of and monitoring of work assignments and routine cleaning schedules for all diet aides and servers.
Supervises the physical appearance of all dining room areas and server stations.
Supervises the appearance of dining room tables, including table linens, napkins, silverware, table set-up and centerpieces.
Maintains pertinent and appropriate records, logs, reports, files, schedules, and studies.
Approves timecards for all front-of-the-house employees.
Tracks and reports on all resident billing and in-house catering.
Other Duties:
Assists in development, implementation and maintenance of written dining room service objectives and standards of practice with procedures for implementation.
Assists in assuring staff education is provided to dining room personnel in accordance with the staff education plan, plus provides on‑the‑job training for dining room personnel.
Ensures that dining room service is in compliance with all local, federal, and state regulations in relation to service, sanitation and personnel.
Participates in cost control measures.
Inspects equipment to determine repair or maintenance needs and cleanliness.
Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required. Prefer courses in hospitality management or dining room operations.
A minimum of two years supervisory experience in "front of the house operations" within restaurant, hotel, country club or similar institution.
Ability to effectively communicate with residents, patients, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, subordinates, and other outside contacts.
