Job Description:

The Associate Director of Development Operations- Research position is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a program of information management which will enhance the Development program and result in increased engagement and philanthropic support for Rhodes.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Serve as a resource to the Development Division on database reports and general constituent information. Support all aspects of ensuring a successful Development Division.

  • Work closely with the Development Operations Coordinator to help oversee gift processing.

  • Conduct prospect identification, research and management. Provide briefing documents for the President and other staff as needed for individuals, corporations, and foundations.

  • Build, review and execute regular and ad hoc reports, both gift and biographical.

  • Responsible for data information management and integrity, batch uploads, and data pulls from other modules.

  • Responsible for coordinating data transfer to and from external databases with appropriate departments (Ex. Omatic).

  • Provide training to staff in appropriate topics. Write and maintain reference documents related to data management and reporting.

  • Hire, train, and supervise Development Operations Student Associate.

  • Must be knowledgeable of other positions in Development Operations to ensure full support to Development.

  • Provide stewardship research which includes accessing account balances on gift funds, researching original gift agreements and statements of intent to determine donor intent as questions emerge, monitor spending of funds, and ensure that both the donor's intent and the college's needs are respected.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Must have excellent computer skills, including the use of word-processing, spreadsheet, and database management software.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite in Windows environment and internet use/searches.

  • Must be willing to work in a team, attentive to detail, accurate, have a pleasant manner and be able to conduct phone inquiries, receptive to requests, able to meet pressure of deadlines, able to perform repetitive tasks without supervision, able to set priorities and organize tasks for efficiency.

  • Knowledge of Raiser's Edge, Omatic, Banner and/or Workday software in a non-profit/fundraising setting preferred.

  • A working knowledge of accounting procedures preferred.
