What We're Looking For

The Associate Director of Development, Major Gifts - Athletics will support the mission of the University by cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of major and planned gifts to Baylor, primarily for Baylor Athletics.

A bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience in a major gift fundraising or sales role, preferably in college athletics, and an active Christian faith are required. A master's degree and 5 years of experience are preferred.

A valid Texas Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required.

A successful candidate will have/possess strong character and self-starting/driven work ethic, curiosity to learn more about people, high emotional intelligence, a coachable spirit, and a persistence to initiate and cultivate key donor relationships.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.

What You Will Do

  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a specific portfolio for major and planned gifts to Baylor, especially for Baylor Athletics, that consists of capital, endowment, and expendable philanthropic dollars.

  • With the leadership of the Associate AD/Sr. Director of Development, establish yearly measurable goals and objectives and related metrics for new gift commitments secured, proposals made, and prospect meetings held.

  • Participate fully in University Development's prospect management and related prospect development programs in order to inspire trust, encourage creative thinking, and collaborate with other Baylor staff and volunteers to significantly increase private gifts to Baylor.

  • Collaborate with Baylor Athletics' leadership to develop impactful agendas, attend sporting events and partner with network events, consistent with Baylor's and Baylor Athletics' strategic plans for major donors.

  • Collaborate and strategize to increase annual support and engagement to support the efforts of the Division of Baylor Athletics, Baylor Bear Foundation and Alumni Engagement.

  • Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and institution rules and regulations and communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the Athletics Compliance staff.

  • Travel to major markets in Texas for donor visits for the purpose of cultivation toward and stewardship of major gifts; additional travel possible, for Athletics events/donor engagement related to fundraising efforts.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.

  • Ability to comply with University policies.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
