The Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering has an exciting opening for Associate Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Associate Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations (CFR) is responsible for developing and executing strategies to increase corporate gifts and private grants in support of the College of Engineering and its academic units. This position will support the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering (Allen School), one of the College's academic units.

The Associate Director will be an integral part of an Advancement team that values respectful collaboration, shared leadership, professional growth and impactful contributions. In collaboration with internal stakeholders, such as the Allen School's director and faculty, this role will play a crucial role in developing strategic funding priorities.

What You Will Do:

Frontline Fundraising (75%)

  • Work proactively on behalf of the College of Engineering to form beneficial corporate partnerships that result in gift and grant funding.

  • Identify corporate and foundation gift and grant prospects and implement a strategic cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plan in collaboration with the UW's Corporate & Foundation Relations Office, the College of Engineering's stewardship staff and central UW donor relations and marketing teams.

  • Work with academic leaders and faculty to develop proposals to best match the interests and requirements of corporations.

  • Advocate for the Allen School's priorities that would attract major funding and work proactively to forge relationships among academic leaders across disciplines to develop funding opportunities.

Program Development and Management (20%)

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to department chairs, faculty and administrators in designing and implementing strategies and advancement programs needed to sustain and increase corporate support.

  • Coordinate the participation of the Dean, academic leaders, administrators, volunteers and Advancement staff in corporate fundraising activities.

Other duties as assigned (5%)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree and five years of progressively responsible experience in institutional development/advancement or related field, with an emphasis on cultivating and soliciting major gifts.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

  • Executive decision-making ability along with a high level of discretion and tact when engaging with donors and alumni.

  • Demonstrated creativity, organizational ability and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite for correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets, databases and forms.
