Southwestern University, located in Georgetown has an immediate opening for Associate Director of Athletic Marketing & Digital Media. The Associate Director of Athletic Marketing & Digital Media is responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing and digital media for Pirate Athletics in collaboration with the Associate Director of Athletic Communications and other Athletic department management. This position will also provide sports information support as assigned. This is a full-time, fully benefited, exempt position who reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director.

Primary Duties:

  • Manage strategy, implementation, and analytics of digital marketing and communication initiatives for Pirate Athletics, including southwesternpirates.com web page, email, and social media.

  • Liable for web design and maintenance of the Athletics website.

  • Serve as the marketing and communications project coordinator for the department.

  • Manage and supervise Athletics' print and digital communications and special projects.

  • Manage project development from initial client concept meeting launch and delivery.

  • Serve as the gatekeeper for all material, reviewing for branding, messaging, and consistency.

  • Coordinates with the Senior Creative Director for creative design and execution of communication and marketing materials.

  • Coordinates with the Associate Director of Athletic Communications to provide content for marketing and communications material based on the production schedule.

  • Creates digital content through graphic design and video production.

  • Market Athletic events to a variety of external audiences.

  • Promote Pirate Athletics to internal audiences (faculty, staff, students) to strengthen the sense of community on campus.

  • Assist in the recruiting, training, and scheduling of undergraduate intern staff.

  • Compiles statistical data and information to the SCAC, SAA, and NCAA, support game states, live stats, webcasting, and writing pre-and post-game recaps.

  • Attends or assist in certain events and campus committees as requested

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Experience in managing official brand in social media accounts, develop creative digital content.

  • Possess project management experience.

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with high levels of concentration and accuracy as well as meticulous attention to detail.

  • Possess knowledge of HTML, web content management system as Sidearm Sports, WhiteWhale, and expert-level in Adobe Creative Suites, Adobe Premier Pro and Photoshop.

  • Possess knowledge of StatCrew, and photography.

  • Possess strong leadership skills, work ethic, and time management.

  • Ability to perform under pressure in a high pace environment.

  • Ability to prioritized and balance priorities while creating high quality content.

  • Posses knowledge of Southwestern University and NCAA guidelines regarding publications and promotions.

  • Ability to adhere to the University's core values, understand and commitment to a liberal arts education.

  • Posses knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of cultural differences and the diversity within the campus and community.

Preferred Position Requirements:

  • Master's Degree
  • 2 plus years of experience in sports marketing.
  • 2 plus years of experience in higher education or professional sports environment.
