The Associate Director of Annual Giving is responsible for overseeing the milestone 25th Reunion program as well as developing and implementing an 18-month strategic fundraising plan to elevate Bowdoin College's Reunion giving overall. In addition to managing a slate of 12 assigned classes-which includes the recruitment, coordination, and stewardship of volunteers-the Associate Director will oversee and grow a robust Reunion giving program in collaboration with Annual Giving staff, relationship managers, and senior management with the goal of increasing total percent of annual dollars raised from reunion classes each year.

The Associate Director of Annual Giving reports directly to the Senior Associate Director of Leadership Annual Giving and works collaboratively with a team of ten professional fundraisers at one of the nation's premiere annual giving programs. Essential Functions:

Partner with Bowdoin Alumni Fund class volunteers in 12 assigned classes to achieve annual revenue, participation, and leadership giving goals. Strengthen volunteer teams through recruitment, training, management, and consistent communication. Travel regionally to meet with volunteers and prospects achieving 50-75 visits annually. Collaborate with class managers in Annual Giving to ensure program consistency, while understanding and responding to the uniqueness and special qualities across each class.
Act as the lead for each assigned class's individual fundraising strategy in partnership with Lead Agent volunteers to successfully achieve revenue and participation targets. Collaborate with Leadership Gift Officers (LGO) to coordinate ask timing and challenge gifts. Establish class goals and priorities and provide summaries on class progress with key volunteers. Personally solicit alumni in assigned classes who are not assigned to LGOs, when necessary.
Manage the 25th Reunion program in collaboration with an Alumni Relations and Leadership Gifts partner. Set ambitious multi-year giving, participation, and leadership giving and develop a strategy to meet those targets. Recruit, onboard, engage, and steward Reunion Committee members. Oversee class-specific Reunion communications including class newsletters and solicitations. Staff Reunion Weekend events.
Oversee the coordination and strategy for reunion giving across all class years by developing volunteer recruitment and management strategies, ensuring revenue goals and ask amounts are ambitious, and monitoring and analyzing reunion-related data. Mentor and guide other class managers and develop templates and plans to establish consistency across all Reunion year classes. Organize and lead a cross-departmental annual retreat to coordinate reunion giving efforts. Build timelines for committee recruitment and challenge gifts. Identify opportunities to promote and celebrate giving during events including Reunion Weekend.

Education/Skills Requirements
A Bachelor's degree is required.Applicants must possess:
Excellent writing and speaking skills a demonstrated capacity to develop, organize, and manage programs.
The ability to work independently and creatively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
The ability and willingness to travel, strong organizational skills, and a familiarity with computer systems and software used in development settings (e.g., fundraising reports).
Comfort working with diverse alumni populations and in soliciting, training, leading, and guiding alumni volunteers as well as a commitment to and respect for the contributions of volunteers.
A positive attitude, and be a driven and energetic team player.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience is required.Successful experience with fundraising, volunteer management, and project management is strongly preferred. Previous experience working in class management is a plus.Must be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills and well-developed computer, spreadsheet, word processing, and database skills.

Standard Work Days and Hours
This is an exempt position requiring time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete job requirements. Hours are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. onsite in Brunswick, ME, with opportunities for hybrid work. There is occasional work after 5 p.m. or on weekends. Travel is required.Benefits and Pay:

The hiring range for this position is $74,200 - 79,200.
