Brief Description of Duties

Under the leadership of the Director of Undergraduate Admission, the Associate Director of Admission Operations manages student data records and procedures to support the admission application process and enrollment of students. The Associate Director will support and manage business processes, data capture and processing, functional and systems-related technology, document management, application processing, and notification functions.

The Associate Director is a hands-on leader in Banner, CRM (Salesforce preferred), in addition to assisting the Banner Specialist with Web Admit and Liaison CAS systems and will serve as the primary resource for all related systems. The Associate Director will supervise a team of Information Processors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervision

  • Inspire, mentor, and motivate members of the team with a seamless service delivery and compliance focus.

  • Provide effective leadership by fostering a stable, cohesive, and transparent environment, and mutual respect.

  • Promote professional development, provide clear direction and hold staff accountable.

Operations, Technology, Systems & Data

  • Develop and maintain information processor standard operating policies and procedures manuals to support cross functional training and collaboration across departments and university wide.

  • Participate system upgrades and integrations (Banner, Clean Address, Parchment, Graduate CAS, Common App, and others); coordinating with IT for integration support as needed.

  • Assess and improve operational strategies, staff deployment, and resource allocation to ensure optimal service delivery for processing of student records.

  • Manage and analyze current system processes and information technology needs; identify opportunities for improvements to current processes and systems and implement new processes as necessary.

Compliance

  • Perform regular audits of information professors inputs and outputs.

  • Ensures residency policy for preferential tuition is executed and applied in eligibility reviews.

  • Serve as member of the Title IV compliance committee.

Perform other related duties as assigned by Enrollment Services leadership.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred

  • Five to seven years of experience in enrollment management

  • Experience and proficient with information technologies including database management and enrollment system management

  • Project management experience

Visa Sponsorship: At this time, the University of the District of Columbia does not provide sponsorship for visas (e.g. H-1B). This position is also ineligible for Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Residency Preference: A person applying for a position who is a bona fide District resident at the time of application for the position, may be awarded a 10-point residency preference over non-District applicants, unless the person declines the preference points.

If selected, the person shall be required to present no less than 8 proofs of bona fide District residency on or before the effective date of the appointment and maintain such residency for 7 consecutive years from the effective date of the appointment. Failure to maintain bona fide District residency for the 7-year period will result in forfeiture of employment.

Drug-Free Workplace: Pursuant to the requirements of the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, the individual selected to fill this position will, as a condition of employment, be required to notify his/her immediate supervisor, in writing, not later than five (5) days after conviction of any criminal drug statute occurring in the workplace.

Background Investigation: Employment with the University of the District of Columbia is contingent upon a satisfactory background investigation.

The determination of a "satisfactory background investigation" is made at the sole discretion of the University of the District of Columbia. The University may refuse to hire a finalist, rescind an offer of employment to a finalist or review and may terminate the employment of a current employee based on the results of a background investigation.
