The Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid of the Stanford Graduate School of Business seeks an Associate Director, MSx Admissions. The Associate Director will work as part of a small team within GSB Admissions & Financial Aid to attract, evaluate and enroll students to the one-year MS in Management degree program (called the MSx Program). The Associate Director will be involved in virtual and global outreach to identify potential applicants, will read and evaluate applications, and will work closely with admitted students to ensure they enroll successfully in the MSx Program.

Your primary responsibilities* include:

Admissions management (90%)

  • Lead strategic planning, analysis and execution for MSx admission outreach, evaluation and enrollment with prospective applicants and applicants including relationship development and communication. Address the significant business and regulatory challenges that require admissions subject matter expertise. Develop programs from initial concept to implementation.

  • Manage the administration and evaluation of outreach and enrollment. Manage seasonal admissions readers, including administration of role and evaluation of performance. Oversee the interpretation, implementation and compliance with policies and regulations, including compliance with SCOTUS decision ending race conscious admissions practices and any future legal decisions. Recommend actions and/or resolve complex issues that often span organizational boundaries within GSB Admissions & Financial Aid and across other GSB and university departments.

  • Represent admissions for the MSx program at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies including partnering with various subject matter experts to ensure effective data integrity and alignment with GSB and university admissions processes.

  • May oversee or supervise staff in the development and implementation of programs or functions.

  • May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.

Communications and Marketing (10%)

  • Conduct market research, including competitive benchmarking, and analyze MSx admissions program effectiveness used to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction.

  • Collaborate with the GSB Admissions marketing team to develop strategic marketing plans/programs to meet business objectives.

  • May collaborate with GSB Admissions marketing team to create and manage the execution of integrated communication strategy which leverages the brand strategy, incorporating appropriate channels (i.e., web, print, email, online).

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.

  • Demonstrated creativity, problem solving, critical analysis, initiative, judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to travel, including international travel, and work occasional evenings and weekends.

In addition, preferred requirements include:

  • MBA or other advanced degree.

  • Familiarity with Slate or other admissions systems.

  • Experience in higher education.

The expected pay range for this position is $95,000 to $150,000 per year.
