This position reports to the Vice President of Marketing and is based in Aliso Viejo, CA. Working closely with other members of the NUEDEXTA and ONZETRA Brand Teams, Sales, Sales Training, Medical Affairs, Government and Corporate Affairs, this individual will lead all commercial key opinion leader and professional association strategy development and execution for both brands to augment the understanding of the disease states and the brands role in the treatment of these conditions.
Essential Job Functions:
Continual assessment of PBA and Migraine disease landscape including priority professional associations and key opinion leaders
Lead business planning responsibility for professional associations and key opinion leader engagement activities working closely with other functions as appropriate
Strategy development focused on identifying priority areas for engagement within the communities to drive increased awareness and understanding of the disease states and the brands value propositions
Create support for each brand among professional associations and key opinion leaders in appropriate specialties
Drive implementation of key initiatives and meet or exceed specified KPIs.
Effectively manage relevant vendor, agency and consultant resources and their work product to ensure impactful use of budget. Maintain in-depth knowledge of current and evolving Payer landscape; Develop strategies and resources to maximize patient access
Develop effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrate the ability to take a leadership role in identifying issues, forming hypotheses, conducting research and analyses, creating business plans, and executing tactical action plans. Understand unique business and regulatory requirements of multiple sites of care including retail and long-term care settings
Collaborate with medical affairs and clinical in developing scientifically accurate and compelling content to support opinion leader programs
Exhibit knowledge of, and adhere to, all applicable healthcare laws and regulations, industry practices and Avanir company policies related to pharmaceutical marketing and promotion
Bachelor's degree required
14+ years of related experience, including 6+ years of management experience
At least 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry with a combination of experience in marketing and sales leadership
Previous experience in KOL developments well as product launch experience
Neurology or related experience (e.g., psychiatry, geriatrics) highly preferred
Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific / medical concepts of drug products to key external audiences in the medical community
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required
Must have the experience and confidence necessary to work with senior executives, and the ability to build rapport with employees at all levels
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and independently determine appropriate action where precedent may not exist
Demonstrated record of cultivating collaboration of internal stakeholders
Strong team leadership and ability to influence across all levels of the organization
This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and frequent walking. Daily use of a computer, phone, office equipment and other computing and digital devices is required. May be required to stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel may be necessary, so the ability to travel by plane, operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license and/or effectively navigate public transportation is required. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee must be able to read and respond to interoffice communications as well as effectively participate in meetings. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to lift up to 20 lbs., pull, push, carry, handle or feel.
