Associate Director Investment Operations The Johns Hopkins University, one of the world's premier teaching, research and patient care institutions, is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Director

  • Investment Operations within its Investment Office, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. The Investment Office has responsibility for investing the endowments for the university, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and related endowed entities totaling more than $9 billion, among many other assets.

    We are seeking an Associate Director – Investment Operations . This individual will play an integral role on the Investment Operations team and directly supervise the day-to-day work of the operations analysts. A successful candidate in this role will be expected to leverage prior industry experience principally in accounting, performance, derivatives and trade support to execute on core operational processes. The Associate Director – Investment Operations will be expected to supervise, review and provide training for junior members of the investment operations team, verify the accuracy of portfolio and benchmark performance results and resolve performance-related issues.

    Specific Duties & Responsibilities Skills Knowledge of investment accounting, valuation and investment performance processes. Experience with operational support and considerations for derivative instruments. Mastery level ability with Microsoft Excel.

    Experience implementing data visualization and business intelligence tools (Power BI/Tableau) for reporting. Values Proactive with sense of urgency. Intellectually curious, relentless lifelong learner.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in accounting or finance with proven academic excellence.

    Minimum of 5 years’ work experience preferably in an investment operations and performance reporting role. At least 1 year of supervisory experience required. Preferred Qualifications Public accounting experience, custodian bank or prime broker operations experience preferred.

    Master’s Degree, CPA or CFA preferred. Classified Title: Associate Director Investment Operations Role/Level/Range:

    ATP/04/PG Starting Salary Range: $145,000 - $210,000 Annually (Commensurate w/exp.) Employee group: Full Time Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am
