Family Health Centers of San Diego is looking for an Associate Director, Grants Administration who is responsible for preparation and post-award activities. Identify/review funding opportunities. Develop, write and submit major grant proposals. Monitor and ensure fulfillment of grant deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships, inspire others to perform at a high level, prepare career development plans and retain an accountable workforce.

  • Coach, counsel, and administer appropriate disciplinary action in a timely manner.

  • Provide and ensure staff receive all new hire and annual trainings on time.

  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Grants and Program Development, in reviewing opportunities from team members and FHCSD leadership by providing synopsis of grant with key data points and assessment of fit as well as recommended appropriate work team and program plan for chosen opportunities, attending initial meetings (as needed,) and liaise with external partners.

  • Lead staff in providing guidance, mentorship and constructive feedback.

  • Work with director-level and program staff to identify funding opportunities and oversee the development, writing and submission of major grant proposals

  • Lead and coordinate the research, development, writing, packaging and submission of grant proposals to include the design of goals, objectives, activities, and budgets that align with funder interests and agency priorities.

  • Manage post-award grant contracts, procedures and guidelines for grant management, and compliance and reporting to ensure all grant requirements are met.

  • Manage review, routing, tracking, maintenance, and dissemination of grant award contracts/agreements and other grant-related donor communication/recognition and stewardship are achieved.

  • Ensure grant objectives and reporting are tracked, and reports are submitted on time.

  • In collaboration with Director, oversee grant awards to include ensuring compliance by serving as the point of contact for project officers and grant management specialists to include program inquiry responses, obtaining clarification of program guidance, and informing staff of FHCSD initiatives as required.

  • Participate in meetings with Director, CFO and Grants Accounting to monitor and report to funders and clinic/program directors the programmatic and financial aspects of grants and grant-funded projects to ensure integrations are executed.

  • In collaboration with the Associate Director of Grants and Program Development, conduct administrative tasks to include staff meetings, evaluations, purchasing, and FHCSD grant-related software and funder portals (i.e., SAM, HRSA EHB, Grants.gov, HIH eRA Commons and other corporate/foundation portals).

  • Collaborate with the Director in overseeing FHCSD 330 grant operations-related deliverables to include changes in scope, needs assessment, service area update and FTCA application. Additionally, oversee FHCSD HPSA/MUA/MUP designations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated supervisory experience required.

  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in foundation/grant writing, preferably in a health care nonprofit or educational environment.

  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with employees, coworkers, departments, government representatives, and potential/current donors.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local government regulations related to grants as well as a foundation of best practices, procedures, and policies.

  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and techniques, including performance management and employee development.

  • Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County, to locations that may have limited access to public transportation; proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Licensed for a minimum of 3 years; No more than 2 violations and/or accidents within 3 years; No vehicle related suspensions/reinstatements; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving within 7 years.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.

78,416.00 - 111,837.00

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
