This is an exciting opportunity to help lead the way with the Global Hospital Acute Care Business.

The Associate Director Global Marketing, Anesthesia and Surgery will play an important role in maximizing the worldwide opportunity for our anesthesia franchise. BRIDION is a key growth driver for Merck and the Hospital Acute Care Business with sales expected to grow beyond $1 Billion and significant momentum with recent launches in the US and China.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with Core 6 Markets to co-create strategies and tactics that drive our key success factors.

  • Close collaboration with the Regional Commercial Leaders to ensure flawless execution of the global strategy outside core 6 markets.

  • Drive Scientific Engagement plan with Medical Affairs by identifying new ways to interact and partner with HCPs and Societies.

  • Develop digital strategy, support content development and create an integrated digital distribution plans.

  • Innovate around digital analytics by identifying tools that help drive enhanced strategic pull through as well as setting clear KPIs to measure success and continuously strive for improvement.

  • Continue to build on our worldwide anesthesia community by improving our global inter-connectivity and best practice sharing.

  • Partner with CORE, Medical Affairs and Market Access teams to assess real world evidence needs and application in the clinical and payer setting.

  • Partner with MMD to ensure continuous supply as well as supply chain robustness for future growth.

  • Strong management of the global promotional budget

  • Key focus on strong partnership with US and China (driving 65% of the brand growth over the 5 year period).

Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience and

Skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years combined marketing, sales, marketing support or related experiences in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries
Preferred Experience and

Skills:
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills, both within GHH as well as cross divisional

  • Communication: Ability to clearly articulate messages/information across the enterprise

  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to analyze complex data and create clear patient and customer centric strategies

Position Description: We are presently recruiting for a Global Marketing Director for Lynparza. The product is currently approved for use in the treatment of platinum sensitive recurrent Ovarian Cancer (OC) regardless of BRCA status and in metastatic Breast Cancer. However, the product is currently in an exciting phase, with multiple future indications that are being sought, including in Prostate Cancer and Pancreatic indications. The position will be based in Kenilworth, NJ. This position will require outstanding leadership in Global Product Strategy, as well as Product Launch & Management. This experienced marketer's role will initially focus on co-execution of the full strategy for the assigned indication as it expands worldwide, as well as jointly preparing for future lifecycle opportunities with our alliance partner, Astra Zeneca (AZ) As part of the Merck/AZ Alliance for Lynparza, the individual in this role will partner with 1) AZ counterparts 2) cross functional colleagues and 3) regions + top markets on key aspects of global marketing, including the following responsibilities: * Establish and foster strong working relationships with alliance partner AZ * Plan and execute worldwide launch & execution; launch readiness management and tracking globally and regionally * Jointly prepare the global market for the introduction of new indications * Contribute to brand and diagnostic strategy, pricing & reimbursement planning * Tactical Planning & Execution (e.g., Advisory Boards, Congress Planning.
