Job Description:
OFFICIAL TITLE: Associate Director for Student Conduct and Community Standards
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Assistant Dean of Student Affairs for Compliance and Education
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Indirect supervision of hearing officers, graduate assistant, and student employees

General Statement of Duties: The Associate Director of Community Standards, provides leadership and management of the University's student conduct system.

This position will assist the Vice President of Student Affair's team focused on fostering civility on campus and support for students. Collaborate on leadership and vision for the division, conduct investigations regarding alleged misconduct, and work with multiple departments throughout the university to support the mission of the office, division and university.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include the coordination of conduct process (administrative) tasks, conduct and manage investigations, and the management of student issues on an individual basis. This position also supports, manages and trains hearing officers on process and Maxient software and co-facilitates the Student Intervention Team (SIT).

Responsibilities:

(E) Work to protect the rights of students by providing a fair and equitable process for resolving behavioral complaints. (E) Document student meetings and interventions consistently in order to allow for continuity of care. (E) Responsible for updating departmental manuals, guides, forms, and website content and compiling assessment of survey results and training evaluations. (E) Oversee case management work flow in database (Maxient) for conduct, Title IX and SIT. (E) Monitor investigations, ensure compliance with student rights, oversight of the resolution process, and sanction issuance and compliance. (E) Coordinate alcohol and other drug education (AOD) programs with appropriate University offices and student leaders. (E) Administers the campus conduct process including informal hearings, dispositions, sanctions and sanctions; forwarding the conduct cases to the appropriate administrator(s)/board following the conduct process guidelines. (E) Develops, updates and oversees the publishing the Worcester State University "Code of Conduct and the Conduct System" section of the Student Handbook. (E) Co-facilitate the weekly SIT meetings. Track information in Maxient, provide support and assist with marketing and communication to faculty and staff on the use of the program. (E) Provide expertise and advisement on threat assessment and compliance issues. (E) Train, evaluate, and develop student conduct officers and administrative hearing officers. (E) Oversees Maxient software data collection program and trains appropriate staff in its use. (E) Serves as Campus Security Authority (CSA). (E) Serves on various university committees. (E) Demonstrates civility and professional, customer-service oriented behavior, worthy of emulation by other staff and students. (E) Responsible for contributing to the WSU Strategic Plan. (E) Responsible for contributing to Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action objectives. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated awareness/sensitivity in promoting celebration/understanding of diversity. Demonstrated awareness/sensitivity toward issues pertaining to affirmative action and non-discrimination. Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree Demonstrated experience in mediation/conflict resolution. Demonstrated experience in student conduct and/or experience within a conduct system.

Additional Information:
This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, professional APA position. The firm annual salary range for this position is $73,000- $77,000, commensurate with relevant professional experience and education.
