NYIT (New York Institute of Technology) offers 90 degree programs, including undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees, in more than 50 fields of study, including architecture and design; arts and sciences; education; engineering and computing sciences; health professions; management; and osteopathic medicine. Responsibilities

  • Build and cultivate stakeholder and media relations. Leverage public relations and communication/writing skills as member of the Dean's staff. Support overarching goals of brand and reputation building by pursuing and securing news coverage in line with strategic and institutional priorities for the College of Osteopathic Medicine at ASU.

  • Develop and execute PR strategies: collaborate with students, faculty and staff colleagues to develop key messages for thought leadership pieces; promote NYITCOM at ASU in the region and build and nurture media relationships through proactive pitches and targeted advisories; continually research outlets and journalists to expand PR capabilities to promote the college. Respond strategically to queries with appropriate statements and information. Implement and oversee social media into PR activities.

  • Draft and develop news releases and expert pitches to media outlets.

  • Manage/develop special projects, newsletters including but not limited to website blog copy, video and brochure messaging, and conference materials.

  • Other duties as assigned, including occasional domestic travel in the Arkansas regions

  • Some nights and weekend work required for events and community outreach communications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • Experience in Communications, Media or Public Relations required

  • Experience in Higher Education/Medicine of Healthcare preferred

  • Familiarity with and established contacts at regional media; editing; event marketing; and higher education; media monitoring and news services; industry best practices.

  • Excellent communications (written, verbal); ability to seek out and develop news stories, releases, web and social media content; story pitching; research and interviewing; multitasking/prioritization; project management. MS Office Suite (inc. PowerPoint), Photoshop, HTML or web content management system skills and familiarity with social media.

  • Strategic thinking and listening; must be well-organized; poised, professional, engaging, and able to prioritize; adherence to tight deadlines; proven record of successful media placements; adept at translating highly technical information and distilling it into a compelling story for public/media consumption; good instincts for newsworthy/pitchable material. Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

General Summary: The primary role of the Marketing Analyst is to assist in developing, driving, and communicating data focused marketing strategies to achieve overall business goals. By providing the organization with strategic data insight, the Marketing Analyst will assist in facilitating the acquisition, retention, and growth of services in support of targeted revenues.
