The University of Arizona (UA) Center for Biomedical Informatics & Biostatistics (CB2) and the College of Health Sciences (COHS) seek an innovative and experienced educational leader to design, launch, and oversee new educational offerings in Biomedical Informatics. This individual will also serve as the Associate Director of CB2 for Education and Training.
UA currently graduates the largest number of Indigenous students with doctoral degrees in the country. This, combined with Arizona's large Hispanic population, positions UArizona to be the leader in developing educational offerings that position graduates to tackle the unique needs and challenges of developing informatics solutions for and with Indigenous and underserved populations in the state of Arizona and beyond.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an informatics leader to envision and create entirely new programs and to shape the direction of informatics education in Arizona and nationally. Initial activities will involve designing and launching degree and non-degree educational programs in Biomedical and Health Informatics. This position will collaborate with colleges and department across UA to develop new educational offerings, and to expand and tailor existing offerings for the health and biomedical domains.
The successful candidate will meet the requirements of either a career track or tenure track faculty in the College of Health Sciences according to the College and University guidelines.
The CB2 is the home for informatics research and services across the six UA health science colleges. The COHS includes Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Clinical Translational Sciences, Health Sciences Design Education and Genetic Counseling Graduate Programs.
