The Role

We are looking for an Associate Director, Strategy + Integration to join MW's global Diversity and Engagement team. They will report to the Chief Diversity & Engagement Officer and will be responsible for leading the implementation of our D&E strategy across our global network, ensuring all programs and initiatives developed are on strategy and furthering our D&E mission.

This role will require strong strategic leadership in the development, implementation, and execution of global diversity and engagement initiatives. The right candidate for this role will bring strong strategic planning skills, a bias toward action, a head for business and a heart for service. This role will require true collaboration across interdisciplinary departments throughout the MW global network, effectively managing multiple constituents and competing priorities. Success will mean being able to seamlessly integrate diversity principles ensuring that they are embedded into every touchpoint across the entire employee life cycle.

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Apply an integrated marketing approach through brand development and communication strategy.

  • Responsible for trend writing, creative metric monitoring, marketplace analysis and insight reports.

  • Lead advancements in market research, competitor analysis, consumer behavior/insights and communications architecture development.

  • Help define and articulate the overarching D&E strategy through a model that supports organizational alignment around the strategic plan and vision.

  • Frame and analyze complex problems, develop recommendations, partner across the team to drive implementation, facilitate governance and collaboration and inform and influence decision making.

  • Responsible for key thought leadership topics in the D&E space (including racial equity, policy agenda, and more).

  • Support the implementation of MWG D&E strategy and corresponding action plans; manage resources, develop tools that effectively codify and templatize the global D&E operating system across the MWG network.

  • Partner with agency teams to drive integration of D&I principles across business practices (e.g., new business, client teams, operations, finance, communications, strategy teams, etc.).

  • Serve as brand activation strategist for progressive D&E executions and positioning within network and within comms.

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with global and regional HR teams, Diversity leads, employees, and external community-based organizations. Partner with internal stakeholders such as global and regional corp comms, PR, Operations, and Finance when necessary.

  • Partner with various regional leads to on channel strategies and social tactics with success metrics.

  • Develop and implement consistent tracking processes to determine ROI for all global programs across agencies, using specific KPIs to measure the effectiveness of plans, gather key insights and continually provide methods and recommendations for areas to optimize based on results.

  • Gather, synthesize and translate relevant cultural data/insights to create thoughtful and well-written insights for distribution.

  • Develop/design PowerPoint presentations for Chief Diversity & Engagement Officer.

  • Identify new high-visibility partnerships and sponsorships that help drive our mission and lead to an increase in our ROI.

  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with diversity related community or government associations in each region.

  • Partner with MW's recruiting team and regional recruiting leads to identify methods to amplify the MWG brand as a destination employer for diverse talent across multiple on and offline channels.

  • Partner with appropriate team members to support or leverage internal communities (Coalition, McCann Kinect, WLNs).

  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure project and program success.

  • Partner with other Associate Directors of D&E to contribute content to monthly Global Diversity Coalition calls.

  • Track global diversity and inclusion efforts in order to identify, merchandise and share scalable solutions that benefit multiple agencies seeking effective diversity practices.

  • Share responsibility with rest of diversity team for "flawless execution" of all deliverables and bring a can-do, all hands on deck attitude at all times.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required

  • 8+ years of agency or related experience required

  • Entrepreneurial in spirit and proactive in action

  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented

  • Able to think strategically as well as tactically

  • Crisp thinker and communicator verbally, visually and in writing

  • Strong understanding of strategic planning processes including development of goals and initiatives and work plan development.

  • Data-savvy; brings a strong appreciation and understanding of analytics and research

  • Strong creative writing skills a plus, but not required

  • Ability to thrive in a large, highly-complex, global organization yet bring a start-up attitude, including the ability to develop new processes, balance competing priorities and function at a fast pace.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant area a plus, but not required
