As a member of the Fox School's Marketing Group, and reporting to the Director of Graduate Marketing, the Associate Director of Digital Marketing will develop the strategy and be responsible for the dissemination of digital communication efforts that help yield and retain prospective students across the various stages of the recruitment cycle. He/she will be responsible for marketing automation and work closely with members of the Marketing and Communications team.
The Associate Director will:
Develop and execute digital marketing strategies to reach and engage key stakeholder groups.
Work with email service providers and marketing automation tools such as IBM Watson to increase leads, identify constituent demographics, ensure appropriate syncing with CRM (Salesforce), and determine ways to use the tools to meet or exceed business objectives.
Responsible for owning marketing automation technology and setting up communication flows that are targeted appropriately and personalized using data from the CRM (Salesforce) with replacement fields and dynamic text.
Work closely with members of the Marketing and Communications group, including team members involved with content and creative strategy, and with key constituents across the School and University, to ensure digital marketing deliverables are on-brand, engaging, and meet current deliverability and accessibility requirements.
Manage the workflow process of email marketing from content layout and coding to quality analysis and testing and routing for deployment.
Develop, update, maintain, and optimize content across various automated communication plans for each program.
Track performance, effectiveness, and results of email marketing initiatives and share performance reports with the team, making actionable recommendations for improvement.
Stay current with and provide useable insights from industry and competitor trends.
Maintain an organized email template system and asset library.
Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of email marketing experience that includes working with marketing automation tools such as IBM Watson, Hubspot, Pardot, Marketo. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Possess strong knowledge and understanding of marketing automation and how it relates to CRM (Salesforce).
Background in IBM Watson or a comparative email automation tool.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Understanding of landing pages, A/B testing, and attribution preferred.
Understanding of best practices as well as CANSPAM and opt-out management.
Solid knowledge of HTML.
Basic knowledge of IF/THEN logic used in building dynamic text.
Expertise developing targeted, compelling, and effective marketing and communications messages.
Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced highly collaborative environment managing projects, deadlines, and priorities.
Ability to work nights and/or weekends, if necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
