Position

We are seeking a Data and Analytics strategy professional with hands on experience. You will combine your problem solving and analytical skills to identify, quantify, and solve real world problems leveraging best of breed digital technologies.

This position will provide the unique opportunity to operate in a start-up-like environment within a Fortune 50 company. Our digital focus is geared towards releasing the insights inherent UTC's best-in-class products and services. Together we aim to achieve new levels of productivity by changing the way we work and identifying new sources of growth for our customers. Your core responsibilities will be to synthesize the different Data and Analytics initiatives at UTC globally, understand key requirements, and consolidate them into a cohesive strategy that will need to be delivered.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight and management of Data & Analytics solutions across multiple business units

  • Collaborate closely with executives across cross-functional business and technical teams to set expectations and guide project execution

  • Define Big Data and Analytics strategy that includes a hybrid approach that utilizes 3rd party products, cloud infrastructure providers, and custom inhouse solutions

  • Partner across teams to help drive readiness and quality

  • Consult with technical and creative teams to develop a clear plan and next steps for strategy, design and development activities

  • Raise and remove obstacles related to executive alignment and strategy risks

  • Ensure all deliverables (often times complex/interdisciplinary/interlinked) are clearly specified, scoped and agreed across teams

  • Manage small, medium and large projects for successful delivery

  • Ensure assigned project team(s) understand the project requirements and rationale

  • Recommend and utilize digital tools to increase transparency and communication

  • Recommend and roll out process improvements

  • Consistently adhere to company standards and best practices

  • Mentor junior project and product managers: set professional improvement goals with them and counsel on an ongoing basis

Initially, the Deep Look will be a continuous review of engine part data, where you enter or update the data. Eventually, this meeting will become an annual or semiannual event. These meetings involve various groups within the USAF and other participants from P&W Military Engines. Outside of these meetings you will perform data analysis and maintenance on the Deep Look database, as well as other support tasks designed to leverage a close working relationship with the USAF customer. As part of the Digital Transformation & Analytics group these miscellaneous tasks frequently involve maintaining access to CEMS, REMIS, CETADS, and other USAF data systems, maintaining contact with the USAF PAFM forecasting process, and assisting with data analysis and reporting. Your analytic, project management, and interpersonal skills will be critical. You must be self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as within a cross functional group environment. The nature of the position is to provide connectivity between the customer in Oklahoma City and the parent organization in Connecticut. Activities also include supporting members of Customer Support Engineering, Maintenance Services, and Reliability groups with ad-hoc studies and reports to understand the impact of field problems and engineering changes Due to our government contracts, all applicants must be US Citizens. Education/Certifications: Bachelor degree in a mathematically focused field (computer science, mathematics, operations research, engineering, etc). Experience/Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: * U.S. Citizenship. * 5+ years of related experience or Advanced Degree and 3+ years of related experience * Strong analytical skills, including experience using Excel and at least one Database Management System, such as Access or Oracle, including automating processes using application code. Preferred Qualifications: * Ability to organize and lead extended meetings with the customer, driving those meetings to successful, on-time completion. * Experience with MCA or other Supply Chain Management / inventory optimization. * Python, [Discrete Event] Simulation, Modeling, Statistics, Queueing Theory, Optimization highly beneficial. * Knowledge of jet engines as well as their maintenance processes. * Experience using USAF data systems, such as D035, D043, LIMS-EV, or EMALL. * Must be able to work well with all levels and functions within the organizations. * Strong customer focus experience with a focus on business results.
