Job Description: Summary

The Associate Director, North America Customer Contracting will lead the strategic customer contracting team, which includes pricing analysis, strategy and execution for National Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) as well as leading a team of five that manages the following: Integrated Health Networks (IHN) and Distributor customer contracting; Request for Information/Pricing Bids (RFI/P) and GPO, Distributor and IHN fee payments.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • As an Individual, this person is responsible for working with the National Account Directors and Marketing teams to develop successful pricing strategy and execution for GPO contracts that support the Avanos growth objectives.

  • As a leader, support two members of the team in pricing strategy and execution for IHN customer and Distributor analysis and recommendations as well as develop contracting terms.

  • Contract analysis includes dimensioning of current business, tier structure/compliance, profitability, competitive market conditions, and business strategy.

  • As a leader, supporting the RFI/P process for National and Corporate Accounts.

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of proposals and key metrics of win/loss bids.

  • As a leader, supporting two members that pay monthly, quarterly and annually IHN, Distributor and GPO fee payments with program incentives earned based on member compliance or other specific requirements.

  • Ensure timely and accurate fee payments to Avanos' customers and partners.

  • Clearly and concisely price waterfalls for all GPOs and Corporate Accounts to support business strategy and price realization.

  • Ensure application of established corporate financial and internal controls within all areas of responsibility.

  • Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates, and others who have a need to know.

  • Be informative without being obtrusive while communicating in a way that is timely, yet accurate, candid, clear, concise and responsive.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to: Associate Director, Global Pricing & Customer Contracting

Direct Reports: 5 Contract Managers / Analyst

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred

Experience

Minimum 10 years' work experience with knowledge of the Health Care Industry, including GPO contracts, IHN organizations and distribution partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B2B business model (i.e. understanding distributor end-user sales information, rebates, and tracings), pricing and group membership is desired.

  • The incumbent must have developed leadership qualities including self-starter, strategic vision, decisiveness, collaboration, inspiration, integrity and the ability to build talent.

  • Key skills required include excellent analysis capability, initiative, excellent written and oral communication skills and business savvy.

  • Due to the complexity of the contracts, a strong understanding of legal terms, conditions, as well as the ability to prepare legal agreements is critical.

  • Generally, the ability to quickly learn and leverage systems is strongly preferred, as well as understanding of system interrelationships.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and translate business needs and goals to business processes and reports.

Technical Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint); SAP and Business Intelligence (BI/BW)
