Associate Director Creative Strategy

We're looking for an Associate Director of Creative Strategy who can assist their teams in uncovering breakthrough customer insights, help our teams to turn them into big creative marketing ideas, and identify high-impact opportunities for developing innovative approaches. Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Proactively determine where and how in-depth insight about the consumer's attitude and behavior can help make the client's marketing more successful

  • Identify relevant marketing program implications

  • Drive insight into the company new business process

  • Translate existing customer insights into relevant marketing program implications

  • Apply innovative research and listening methodologies to create relevant, breakthrough customer insights

  • Partner with our cutting-edge primary researchers, internal analysis group and client data/research organizations to maximize their work's customer insights

  • Apply the Digitas Active Branding approach to marketing program development

  • Lead team brainstorms that efficiently produce breakthrough insights

  • Create demand for account planning's contribution by demonstrating its impact

To qualify, you'll need:

  • Four year degree (thinking/writing intensive discipline Master's preferred)

  • 7-9 years of experience in marketing and/or strategic services organizations such as an advertising agency account planning department, brand consultancy, consulting firm or large strategic planning group

  • Qualitative research expertise applying innovative qualitative research techniques

  • Familiarity with interpreting and applying quantitative research

  • Ability to discern customer insight and "human truth" from mounds of data

  • Passion and empathy for the customer's perspective

  • Ability to challenge the team to uncover "what's in it for the customer"

  • Exceptional writing and communication skills

  • Ability to quickly gain the trust of clients and internal team members at all levels

  • Relevant web experience

  • Candidate must be open to travel as needed

VIEW JOBS 10/16/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-14T00:00 The role of Creative Director is a senior position within The Mill and one requiring senior leadership skills, an ability to be a high-end team builder, and above all to have exceptional creative ability. The CD is someone who is able to view several projects from a senior ranked level and determine whether the work is being delivered to the best of The Mill's creative and Visual FX's capabilities. Requiring an acute sense for visual aesthetics, he/she has to have a highly developed knowledge of the software and hardware they use in addition to the technology used in every other aspect of the post-production process. The CD is often the direct link with the client and so must possess an in-depth awareness of client requirements and how to co-ordinate and guide them through the creative process, often with a great deal of diplomacy, to achieve a result satisfactory to all. As a Creative Director within Content and a Senior VFX Specialist they will work with all other departments to manage the long term technical and strategic development of the implementation of new technology and creative ideas. They are also responsible for the guiding and training of Junior Artists and ensuring the creative output of the whole department is to a standard befitting our worldwide reputation. Requirements Responsibilities: * In House directing * The CD is required to raise the bar on all creative output, by engaging in thoughtful process with both clients and Mill staff. * The CD can work on his or her own projects, but will often be the focal point of a Mill creative team. * The role will include selling The Mill's creative solutions at a high level to clients, and working with The Mill's senior team to maximize sales and creative opportunities. * As the role encompasses that of a Senior CGI Supervisor, the role also requires a senior understanding of Visual FX from a CGI (Computer Graphics) perspective. * The Content CD will be specifically responsible for the hire, management and organizational structure of all creative staff who will form the in-house Design & Content team, including Designers and Directorial talent. * The CD is encouraged to give creative staff targets and areas of ownership/responsibility while also managing and monitoring their performance. * The role requires the external and internal promotion of The Mill's in-house design and content offering by helping to define its marketing and sales strategy. The primary purpose being to secure key projects and accounts for The Mill Chicago office, by the overseeing key pitches and treatments. * The CD will also be responsible, also with the senior management team, for the successful growth of The Mill's Design & Content in-house directing offering, as part of The Mill's long term business and strategic growth plan. * Continuing to ensure The Mill's very high quality standards and best practice production methods are upheld. * The CD will seek to influence and evolve other areas of The Mill by example, through a progressive development of the design and content offering. The CD will Seek to affirm and market The Mill as a broader 360 company when possible, while equally honing and presenting more defined Directing and Interactive messages as required. * Regularly engage with key management staff, heads of department and Mill creatives to promote dialogue, influence and knowledge sharing. Required skills, knowledge and experience: * Minimum 3-5 years of Creative Direction * Ability to work with directors, modelers, producers and designers * Capability to lead projects from concept to completion * Clear presentations skills to inspire the creative team and to present company goals and creative vision. * Ability to translate concepts into creative design. * Ability to mentor junior staff * Flawless presentation skills * Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects and Cinema 4D. * Experience with teams of 2D and 3D Technicolor Inc Chicago IL
