About This Role:

Under the Direction of the Executive Director of Student Health & Well-being Services, this position will supervise and lead CAPS. This will be accomplished by coordinating the work for CAPS to uphold the mission by providing comprehensive mental health services to K-State students. This position is expected to contribute to and oversee CAPS staffing, policy, budget, clinical service, programming, and adherence to legal, professional, and ethical standards. The Associate Director will assist with the integrated healthcare model between CAPS and the Health Center. As a CAPS clinical staff member, this position provides counseling, consultation, education outreach, supervision, and urgent-response services to K-State students in support of the office's mission and division of Division of Academic Success and Student Affairs. Successful candidates must demonstrate strong clinical skills, administrative acumen, a collaborative approach to well-being, and a commitment to effectively and appropriately engage students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. This position is an integral part of student well-being; this position works collaboratively with the Student Well-being Leadership Team, particularly the Medical Director, Director of the Morrison Family Center for Student Well-being, Director of Cat's Cupboard, and directly with other key stakeholders across the university.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree

  • Five or more years of relevant experience.

  • Previous supervisory experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate or Master's degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Couple and Family Therapy from an accredited, traditional (not internet or distance learning based) college or University.

  • Three to five (3-5) years of professional experience in providing direct clinical evaluation, treatment, or training in consultation services as well as experience in administering behavioral health programs.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

  • Licensed by the appropriate professional licensure board to practice as a Psychologist, Social Worker, Professional Counselor, or Couple and Family Therapist in the State of Kansas.

  • Certification by the appropriate professional licensure board to provide clinical supervision to license-eligible professionals is preferred.

  • Must maintain Mental Health First Aid certification and any other certifications as required by contract or assigned by Executive Director.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$69,446.00 - $111,110.00
