Associate Director, Communications
This full-time position will serve as the key leader responsible for furthering the College of Design, Construction and Planning's mission and goals through the design, development and execution of a strategic communications plan to inform, educate and garner support on behalf of the college. This position will direct the long-range strategic planning, operations and administrative activities of the college's communications and marketing functions.
The position will direct strategy, development and publication of communications initiatives and structures communications campaigns to achieve long-term and short-term organizational goals.
The position analyzes the effectiveness of and establishes future direction for functional policies and programs, and manages the web developer and public relations specialist positions. This position is located in the Dean's Office of the College of Design, Construction and Planning and reports directly to the Senior Director of Advancement.
Direct the college's marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design and special events. Establish the direction, goals, implementation strategy and policies of these areas.
Define communication strategies for organizational initiatives and oversees media relations in order to ensure consistency of messages and materials. Manages information and resources to meet immediate and long-range goals. Plans coordinates, directs research and helps determine both technical and business goals in consultation with management.
Supervise web developer, and public relations specialist positions.
Direct strategy, development and publication of communications and marketing initiatives. Structure communications and marketing campaigns to achieve long-term and short-term organizational goals.
This may include coordinating a program to provide information data, and timely reports to the public, press, governmental agencies, and other institutions of higher education and/or the writing, design and publication of university and department catalogues, bulletins, programs, and related materials to ensure consistency of style and presentation. Direct all the college's electronic communications initiatives, including the college website, electronic publications and social media.
