The Robotics Data Automation and Machine Learning Associate Director designs and develops platforms and frameworks that facilitate automated data-driven decision-making for use in cell therapy application. This position will lead the design of tools to implement and train machine learning models using data from across the Takeda Cell Therapy Enterprise, and will deploy machine learning services across both discovery, development and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will leverage prior expertise to work cross-functionally across the organization and rapidly deploy the machine learning/AI capabilities that will inform and drive Takeda's future Cell Therapy strategy.
Lead the design & development of systems, data structures, database and machine learning algorithms to be interfaced with automated/robotic solutions
Define data/instrumentation interface requirements towards implementation of Data Driven Decision Manufacturing (D3M)
Develop and implement appropriate machine learning/AI algorithms that can be interfaced with automated processing tools
Test, Qualify and Validate data systems towards deployment in both development and manufacturing
Manage both internal and external data partners/stakeholders
Work cross-functionally across discovery, development and manufacturing to deploy digital solutions across the Cell Therapy enterprise
Actively involved in design and implementation of custom automation hardware, including assisting in FAT/SAT and device qualification
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field; 7-10+ years of relevant work experience
PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field; 4-8+ years of relevant work experience
Demonstrated expertise in hardware and software design principles, particularly around robotics systems, data management, data architecture and data manipulation
Demonstrated expertise in the development and implementation of machine learning algorithms
Understanding of and prior experience in integration requirements between data network and robotics/automated processing tools
Knowledge of process optimization theory and applications, including machine learning, AI, and Data Driven Decision Making
Prior expertise in development and deployment of robotic processing architecture, particularly in manufacturing environments, is a plus
Excellent background in statistical analysis
