POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the direction, management and administration of the Cath Lab, Cardiology and Cardio-Pulmonary Rehab departments.

Maintains adherence to hospital policies, procedures and regulations. Monitors adherence and quality improvement to current standards of practice. Develops and coordinates the financial management for departments of direct responsibility.

Directs department activities through supervisory personnel. Establishes and maintains active involvement with appropriate medical staff and community groups to meet the goals of the organization. Demonstrates well defined organizational and time management skills.

Applies concepts of customer relations and advocacy. Promotes positive relationships. Additionally, promotes the mission, vision, and values of Houston Healthcare.

EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.

EXPERIENCE: Five years clinical nursing experience with three years' experience invasive cardiology procedures. Previous supervisor/management experience.

CERTIFICATION: Current licensure by the Georgia State Board of Nursing.

Current AHA BLS certification. Current AHA ACLS certification or obtained within three months of hire.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Demonstrated leadership/management skills.

Sound knowledge of base of current trends and developments in cardiovascular practice in order to lead department-based changes to improve patient care delivery. Demonstrates ability to and willingness to collaborate with physicians, peers and staff. Demonstrates passion for excellence in every aspect of work. Inspires staff enthusiasm for and generates commitment to program or project goals.
