Summary:

As part the Seattle Genetics North Creek, Site Leadership Team, this role centers on strategic planning, operations and systems analyses, high priority project management, and driving continuous improvement across all site functions. The AD reports to the Site Head and interfaces with multiple business functions across Technical Operations, Information Technology, Facilities and Engineering, and Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Leadership Team members collaborating on site strategy and prioritization, goal setting, resource allocation, project planning and tracking, and ensuring effective communication

  • Maintain site performance metrics (KPIs); promote development and continual review of KPIs across all functional groups; represent North Creek at governance meetings reviewing site metrics and performance

  • Drive improvements in site efficiency/compliance/safety; will author or lead complex gap assessments, value stream mapping projects, risk assessments, business continuity planning, etc.

  • As Project Management leader at North Creek, own and drive the planning and successful execution of high-priority projects and initiatives - spanning business processes, cGMP operations, and capital projects

  • As Operational Excellence leader at North Creek, advise and instruct individuals and teams on the application of lean practices and continuous improvement tools and methodologies. Ensure OpEx-related projects are tracked closely and consistent progress is made

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in science, engineering, business management, or supply chain management

  • More than 10 years relevant experience working within a cGMP pharmaceutical or biologics manufacturing environment; clinical and commercial experience a plus

  • Well-rounded experience in cGMP quality systems and procedures, including change control, investigations, CAPAs, etc.

  • Close familiarity with production planning and supply chain roles and responsibilities; knowledgeable in enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and applications in manufacturing; ERP system optimization experience is a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to function in a matrixed collaborative team-oriented environment while embracing and driving change is required

  • Track record of success in the planning, execution and timely delivery of high-priority projects

  • Track record of success applying lean principles to improve procedural compliance and operational efficiency

  • Skilled in statistical data analysis, failure mode analysis and risk assessment methodologies

  • Skilled in budget development and tracking, cost accounting and financial analysis

  • Superior written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Alder's lead product candidate, eptinezumab, is a pivotal-stage monoclonal antibody (mAb) that inhibits calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP). Eptinezumab, if approved, will be the first-to-market infusion therapy for migraine prevention. Alder is also developing ALD1910, a preclinical mAb that inhibits pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide-38 (PACAP-38) for migraine prevention. Alder submitted a Biologic Application License to the FDA for eptinezumab in February 2019 and plans to obtain regulatory approval in the United States for eptinezumab for the prevention of migraines for patients that suffer with episodic migraine and chronic migraine. Advancing and commercializing eptinezumab in the United States is Alder's priority however we are exploring partnership opportunities to commercialize eptinezumab outside of the United States. The Role: The Medical Affairs Operations Associate/Senior Associate is responsible for administrative management of key medical affairs' activities such as Grants Review Committee (GRC) for Independent Medical Education (IME) and Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS). The role will support Medical Affairs operational objectives. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Medical Affairs Operations, this role will provide support to ensure alignment and execution of Medical Affairs activities in coordination of cross-functional partners ensuring Medical Affairs operational objectives are met. The Medical Affairs Operations Associate/Senior Associate will also assist with the management of vendors who work with designated Medical Affairs functions. Title will be commensurate with experience. Specific responsibilities will include: * Executes Independent Medical Education (IME) and Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) business processes. Acts as the liaison between the grant recipients and Alder to ensure compliance controls are observed including contracting, achievement and documentation of milestones completed, payment processing, budget management and reconciliation. * Manages the Grant Review Committee (GRC) meetings. * Manages Medical Affairs contracts, POs and invoice processing/tracking. * Coordinates Medical Affairs conference activity such as medical affairs booth registration and delivery, preparing and communicating relevant information to cross-functional stakeholders. * Assists Senior Manager, Medical Affairs Operations in developing and maintaining written procedures specific/training relevant to Medical Affairs policies, business processes, etc. * Routes and tracks progress of Alder Medical Affairs policies, work instructions and guidelines in appropriate systems; consolidates and communicates comments to appropriate team members. * May distribute periodic reports as appropriate related to Medical Affairs, including: Medical Affairs newsletters, project status reports, etc. * Involved in Medical Affairs Operations activities including budget and project prioritization. * Identifies, analyzes and communicates problems, issues and opportunities for Medical Affairs Operations. Develops and implements effective solutions to achieve desired outcomes. * Participates in the development and maintenance of necessary Medical Affairs IT infrastructure and resources as required (e.g., website, portals, databases, user acceptance testing, review of specification documents, IIT and Medical Education Grant specification development and system implementation). * Performs special projects as assigned by the Senior Manager, Medical Affairs Operations.
