ABOUT THIS ROLE
Audible is seeking an Associate Director, Business Development to develop content-led marketing and distribution partnerships that will service our strategic growth initiatives. Based within the Global Business Development team, the Associate Director, Business Development will be a leading strategist behind - and champion of - Audible business development/strategic partnership efforts, collaborating with cross functional teams to develop & execute business development and partner-marketing plans in support of global growth initiatives.
The Associate Director, Business Development will be developing ongoing new content-led partnerships with relevant experiences that will surprise and delight our prospects and customers. They will also monitor and be inspired by competitive entertainment brand initiatives and identify unique opportunities for Audible to forge in support of expanding awareness, customer acquisition & engagement.
ABOUT YOU
You live and breathe development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives, specifically traditional as well as innovative, out-of-the-box consumer content marketing experiences across embedded devices, web, and iOS and Android apps. You understand the value of effective brand and partner marketing from one platform to another and how they together form a whole, continuous end-to-end customer experience.
You understand the value of each platform, have an insatiable appetite for understanding your customers, seeking out novel ways to delight customers and reach new audiences, and are relentless in finding collaborative & content-led solutions that meet their needs across a variety of surfaces. You sweat the details and tie them back to the big picture. You have experience and a good understanding of content streaming platforms, distribution platforms, media and integrated marketing plan development.
You have a strong product sense, as well as organizational and problem-solving skills. You handle partners with white-glove service. You're a natural collaborator equally comfortable talking content with the editorial team, customer acquisition & engagement with marketing, user-experiences with designers, copy and positioning with product marketers, numbers with finance, and strategy with executive leadership. You are also experienced and comfortable navigating ambiguity and influencing with authority.
As an Associate Director, Business Development, you will...
Research, define and manage the business development roadmap & strategy, setting expectations with all relevant stakeholders
Drive innovative content-led marketing partnership strategies from conceptualization through launch, collaborating in deal negotiations, creating actionable plans, work streams, and tactics and executing on those in support of co-branded marketing plans, while setting and managing the right expectations with all relevant stakeholders
Establish and continuously update the vision and roadmap for partnerships and content experiences across a diverse set of integrations
Collaborate with Content, Marketing, Brand, Social, Paid Media, PR, Product, Finance, Legal, Customer Service and external partners to determine relevant offers and go-to-market plans
Assess new business and content campaign partnership opportunities, balancing Audible objectives and customer obsession with the goals of the partner to find win-win solutions
Ensure business and editorial stakeholder needs are aligned by driving mindful discussions that lead to crisp decisions
Write concept vision briefs and proposals that clearly outline the strategy, opportunity and concept for the partnership
Create plans that have clear, measurable success criteria and participate in performance reporting
