Overall Objective

The Associate Integrated Media Director manages the efforts of his/her assigned teams in the timely development and submission of annual Media Plans, Point-of-Views (POVs) and related media analyses as may be directed or required.This position reports directly to a Group Media Director or VP of Planning and the EVP Media Services. The position is responsible for directing the efforts of 1-3 Media Supervisors along with their assigned Planners and Assistants associated with those teams. Deliverable timing, coordination and input are coordinated with the corresponding Account Service Director, while overall accountability is subject to the incumbent's manager. This position works under General Direction, providing overview of end result; work is completed unsupervised. Incumbent uses independent judgment and discretion to accomplish tasks. Plans/schedules/arranges own activities. Has considerable latitude of discretion and judgment within scope of position. Develops solutions to complex problems.


  • Directs the activities of assigned Supervisor(s) and manage the team(s) in the development and implementation of national, regional and local traditional media campaigns that will include most or all of the following;

  • National and local broadcast television in traditional and direct response formats

  • National and Local cable television, radio, outdoor and print advertising

  • Paid Digital, Mobile and Social Media Strategies

  • Couponing via FSI, shared and direct mail alternatives

  • Local events ideation and implementation, i.e., local guerilla marketing

  • Work as part of a media planning and buying group, identify, formulate and mange the application of media solutions to overall client objectives

  • Manage clients' expectations at the Director and level, clearly communicate integrated media strategies to clients

  • Supervise relevant team members.

  • Manage the development, implementation and optimization of traditional media plans, strategies and tactics.

  • Work with the senior Buying team management to define and develop optimal media buys, monitoring, post-promotional reporting and other post-buy analyses

  • Prepare and present media presentations directly to client senior, executive and field management, regional and local franchisees or outlets

  • Manage ongoing monitoring of media campaigns, delivering periodic campaign performance meetings internally and reporting results to client(s)

  • Develop POVs as needed in response to client needs or requests

Required Skills


  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years media planning experience of Senior or Supervisor Level

  • Experienced in all relevant Media expressions such as Broadcast, Online, Print, OOH.

  • Excellent presentation and writing skills

  • Proven ability to conceive and develop quality, well-conceived and successful media plans

  • Experience directly managing a staff of 6 or more

  • Experience managing and coordinating inter-departmental efforts at the director and/or senior level

  • Experience negotiating short and long-term contracts with vendors

  • MS Office: Internet Explorer, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Experience with most of the following media planning tools: TNS, Scarborough, Media Monitors, Nielsen, Arbitron, Tactician, and Simmons

  • Assistant Media Director (AMD) or Group Media Director (GMD) level is highly desirable

  • Experience in working with retail clients is highly desirable

  • Full service agency or major media buying service experience

This candidate will work cross-functionally between the Creative & Digital Experience Teams. RESPONSIBILITIES * Produce exceptional work for clients, both creatively as well as effectively, in multiple digital applications with a strong focus on Email creative. Required Skills * Bachelor's degree required and/or 3+ years experience with an advertising organization, with at least three years previous experience in a high volume environment. * A powerful portfolio of creative that demonstrates originality, innovation, problem-solving, and personal expression. * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, utilize resources, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within scope. * Proficiency with software applications used for advertising, such as Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator, and InDesign. * Proficiency with programming languages used for coding, such as HTML, HTML5, CSS, AS 2.0, JavaScript, and .NET. * Proficiency with image manipulation, color-correction, scanning, etc. * Skill with text, photo, and illustration research and permissions. * Strong interpersonal skills; a team player, persuasive negotiator, positive and innovative thinker. * Highly motivated and a high level of initiative; ability to work independently, in support of the agency's creative goals and the client's business objectives.
