Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Associate Design Engineer to join the Mechanical and Grounds Operations Systems team in Seal Beach, CA.

As a Design Engineer, you will work with customers and stakeholders to develop and design ground support equipment and tools for routine maintenance and unscheduled repair of Boeing aircraft.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with requirements to design, analyze and verify product designs and performance for adequacy, including reliability

  • Research and develop material and processes that support the translation from abstract concepts to functional products

  • Applies knowledge of engineering and scientific methods and tools to define and characterize behavior of products, services, and processes

  • Integrates technical, cost, value, and safety considerations into the product definition to comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements; documents results in data sets, reports, specifications, and drawing construction implementing ASME Y14.5 standards

  • Participates with other members on project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and company objectives

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 1+ years of experience using CATIA V5 or ENOVIA

  • 1+ years of experience with aircraft systems or structures design, development and production

Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in a relevant filed of Engineering (Mechanical/Aerospace)

  • Experience with Boeing Commercial Aircraft or equivalent products

  • Experience with ground support equipment design or tool design

  • Experience or familiarity with fabrication and machining

  • Familiarity with stress concepts related to design

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range: $79,050 - $106,950
