The Opportunity
As the Associate Dean of Student and Family Affairs, you will be a close partner with the Chief of Community and Culture, the school's Dean of Student and Family Affairs, and faculty to help students overcome obstacles to their academic, social, and emotional success at school. You will work closely and directly with students who are having challenges at school, manifested in their conduct in or out of the classroom. You will serve as a role model to our students, holding them to the highest standards of character and conduct while forming close relationships that inspire them to give their best every day.

S/he is great at helping students become more reflective and take more ownership over their education. S/he is genuinely kind, thrives on a dynamic team, and builds caring, strong relationships with students and other faculty.
Responsibilities:
Build and reinforce lasting relationships with families to support students' success
Accurately monitors and tracks daily discipline records
Supervise students who have been removed from the classroom and collaborates with the dean with proper disciplinary procedures including, but not limited to, reflection, communication about the incident to teachers and families as appropriate, and re-entry meetings
Collaborates with the dean to effectively manage conflicts with other students, teachers, or staff; build skills for independently preventing and resolving disagreements in students
Ensures the HVA dress code policies are met and addresses infractions
Collaborates with the dean and principal on Community Circles
Supports arrival, dismissal, lunch, transition periods, after school activities, and other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidates Possess:
A bachelor's degree in education or related field
1+ years of related professional experience
A commitment to students with diverse learning needs
Excellent ability to engage and work with families
A high level of personal and professional organization and attention to detail
Able to implement feedback quickly and effectively
Personal integrity and perseverance
Desire to work with folks who are super smart and take themselves very seriously
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000, and is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Final salary may be adjusted based on experience and qualifications. HVA is committed to providing our team with a range of benefit offerings at a competitive value.
