Medtronic Care Management Services (MCMS) is proud to offer patient management solutions that combine remote patient monitoring platforms, proven processes, proprietary software, and world-class care coordination to help our healthcare providers provide value-based health care at home. MCMS offers more than 20 different disease management programs focused on specific diseases and comorbidities. These guideline-based programs are designed to enable clinicians to identify, evaluate, and potentially intervene upon signs of patient risk, as well as help patients manage their own self-care.
As a Data Scientist / Risk Analyst, you will help us discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data and help MCMS make smarter decisions to deliver even better care. The primary focus will be in algorithm development and risk analysis related to Payor customers, applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, developing ROI models and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our products.
A Day in the Life
Consult with clinical team and sales organization on projects.
Conceive, implement and test statistical models.
Model and predict outcomes both financially and clinically.
Prepare project reports and discuss results.
Performing ad-hoc analysis for pre-sales activities and presenting results in a clear manner.
Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance.
Collaborates with various departments on the design, documentation, testing, and implementation of clinical data.
Design and implement clinical protocols and data collection systems.
Develops systems for organizing data to analyze, identify and report data and trends.
Manages data management issues by reviewing protocols for cross-project consistency and identifying standard Case.
Develops data quality plans.
Provide early strategic input into protocol design focused on data management issues.
Review and resolve data discrepancies for standardized data validation systems and procedures.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements

B.S./B.A. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics or any quantitative discipline.
0+ years of experience with at least some of the following:
Experience in MATLAB, R, or other statistical environments.
Experience in Python and SQL programming languages.
Risk analysis, assessment techniques and industry standard methodologies related to ROI, RTM and Financial risk in Healthcare.
Statistical and data experience with Healthcare claims, Diagnosis codes, Pharmacy claims, utilization and providers.
In-depth understanding of Adjusted Clinical Groups and resource utilization.
Implementing algorithms for ROI collection, data search, retrieval and annotation.
Analysis of data using machine learning approaches.
Developing tools for data visualization with Tableau or other similar technologies.
Nice to Have
Candidates should have a demonstrated proficiency with statistical and programmatic tools needed for the exploration of high-dimensionality datasets and be an innovative and analytical thinker with strong communication skills who can work well in an inter-disciplinary team.
