Job Description:


Assists other data analysts with analysis, design and implementation of the data requirements for assigned projects/initiatives. Identify and document data in existing systems. Assists other data analysts with ensuring data designs focus on reducing data redundancy, increasing data reusability, and enhancing data integrity. Develops meta data to provide thorough, clear definitions of data. Assists other data analysts with constructing logical and physical data models to ensure new databases integrate appropriately with the enterprise data architecture and other subject area models.


  • Develops logical and physical data models of new systems to ensure that the new database integrates appropriately with the data architecture directions. Develops logical and physical data models for shared operational data store, data warehouse and data marts.

  • Utilizes reverse-engineering tools to identify and document data in existing systems. Works with business units and application developers to ensure accurate and thorough understanding of data.

  • Works with business users, DBAs, Applications Developers, and Data Quality Team to ensure clear, thorough definitions of data elements and description of contents

  • Maintains and enhances knowledge in all areas of information management.

  • Reviews design documentation with users, business analysts, architects and developers.

  • Assists in technical walk-through sessions, participates in post-implementation project reviews, and ensures that data design documents are developed, maintained and accessible.

  • Works under the direction of Lead and Principal Data Analysts.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience.

  • Exposure to Data Analysis concepts including corporate data modeling, operations data store modeling application data modeling, and business intelligence data modeling

  • Exposure to data modeling tools (e.g. ERWin).

  • Exposure to IT design, development, implementation and support functions.

  • Exposure to relational database design and development.

  • Ability to translate user requirements into technical data specifications.

  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Teamwork skills..

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to DBA functions

  • Exposure to data ware house and/or decision support data modeling.

As a Cyber Hunt Analyst / Data Scientist with IOMAXIS you will be an integral member supporting the USDA ASOC mission applying expertise in Tools, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) designed to maintain state of the art computing environments. Join our team in a full-time capacity from Kansas City, Missouri. This position becomes available upon contract award anticipated January 2019. Interviewing now. In this role you will: * Assist the ISC in establishing data science and machine learning driven approaches to identifying possible security incidents inside the USDA enterprise * Collaborate with other analysts and engineers to develop algorithmic models to meet analyst use cases * Work with engineers to ensure large data sets and tools are being used effectively to support machine learning and data science analysis techniques * Develop algorithms and models based on analyst use cases for security log data * Provide statistical analysis of log/incident data * Support Hunt Team operations by leveraging innovative approaches to incident discovery * Assist in other areas of SOC operations as needed such as data trending, statistical analysis, incident investigation/mitigation, etc. * Handle requirements, documentation, engineering, and support of a Government agency's systems to include log collection and analysis, intrusion detection, malware prevention, data loss protection/prevention and other technologies. * Interact and support both Government and contractor personnel, responsible for administering the network and associated systems as well as various software and hardware vendors. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics or Computer Science fields Skills and Capabilities: * Minimum of ten (10) years of operational experience with Linux systems to include architecture, deployment, operational management, and analysis of security information systems. * OS competency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, Ubuntu, and Windows Server * Experience in the IT security domain (IPS, malware, incident detection and response, firewalls, NIST 800-53) * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Excellent communications skills Certification: CISSP, C|EH, Security+ and/or Linux+ Clearance: Minimum of active SECRET-Level Security Clearance Overview WHY IOMAXIS Unleash your potential and make a dramatic impact!
